Good Afternoon All!
We went to church this morning, but I barely have enough breath to talk, let alone sing, so in the congregation for once! Will be glad when this infection clears up, but suspect it may well need a second dose of anti-biotics yet.
DS' bedding in WM, our bed is changed, as are the towels, so WM will be pretty busy for the rest of the day.
Cheesy ham leeks with new potatoes for lunch, ham and salad/ pickles etc. for supper.
Want to get back to my knitting - but am being put off with the thought of casting on - how stupid is that????? I really am my own worst enemy when it comes to getting started on anything!
We have DS bringing DGD for next w/e. We have booked tickets for the panto in Cambridge, so I hope she'll enjoy that. Need to sort out the bedrooms before they come so hopefully will have more oomph by tomorrow!
I hope you all have a good day today.
Take care!Resolution:

Change of plan here, we are watching the football match, Rangers Vs Celtic, should be eventful! I always love the New Year game, although its a lot different from when we were younger and we used to spend the day in the pub with our mates watching it - now its Irn Bru and crisps in front of the TV with the boys! :rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Hello,
Just popping in to ask a bit of advice.
I am making some Jam tarts today.
How do I prevent the Jam from bubbling all over the tray during the baking time?
If I put in just a little Jam, it might be too dry.
Thanks0 -
put a wee bit of water on the top of the tarts.

EDIT also wipe the flat surfaces of the trays with some veg oil so that if they do still bubble a bit, they'll be easier to clean

Afternoon folks
Another late one for me last night, although this one was not intentional. I didn't get to sleep until gone 4am, and will be taking a sleeping pill of some description tonight. Busy day today doing housework: DH is currently making brunch, WM is on the second load with about a million more to do! Roast beef for dinner tonight which will be later than normal. Have started taking the decs down today, just need DH to get me the boxes to pack away everything. This also means that my windows have one of their non-frequent cleans....:o
Hope you all have a good day

Afternoon, all.
Up late (10am!!) this morning as Hubby was staying over at a friend's house and the thought of having a lie-in with the whole bed to myself was an unusual treat. Stil had to share with the cats though!
I decided it was time to take stock of what was left over in the fridge and veg baskets so have spent a happy lunchtime boiling up ham bones and chopping up veg for freezing. What with the projected leftovers from the next couple of days, I shouldn't need to buy anything other than some eggs, milk and salad veg over the next fortnight, which will balance up the cash I spent at the sales plus leave a bit over for any other bargains I spot in the supermarkets. I already bought a second ham at half price and popped it in the freezer. And cheap fruit cake. My OH loves his fruit cake and it keeps for months. I don't know why folk get worried about Christmas leftovers. I think they're great! Turkey, ham, chicken, stuffing, sausages, cheese etc etc...bring it on!
Friend and family coming this afternoon...three boys plus my own two kids, eek. I have bought decaffinated coke for them, lol.Val.0 -
DH decided to pop down to Wilkinsons this morning and we ended up with all the wrapping paper, gift tags, some new decs and a couple of boxes of posh crackers for next Christmas all at half price except the decs which were reduced to 25p each plus a couple of pressies - bye bye £40
Got the cards last week at Card Factory. I can't bear paying full price for that sort of stuff and do this every year.
TV this year has been tripe but I enoyed primevel yesterday and am looking forward to the second part tonight - the only trouble is that it clashes with Iron Man (Which will probably be shown to death over the coming year anyway).
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
