Hey Milly, I've started taking half a teaspoon of barley grass in a glass of apple juice in the morning (heard loads of peeps raving about it recently) and when I was reading up on it I saw some people say that it helped with their crohn's... Thought of you... Apparently there are almost no side effects from it so could be worth a try... Also lots of vit B.

    Hi Milly,

I found you while looking for another thread; you're title really appealed to me - I think that understanding what actually makes you happy and what we do to conceal the fact that we're not is really key to being MSE.

You've also inspired me to start piggy banking - seems to really help because you know where the different accounts are doing, all separated out.

On the college work, I know how you feel, starting was always the hardest thing for me too. I also think that going in helps a lot -keeps you connected with other people and stops you feeling too isolated. I had a friend in college who used to have migraines when she got stressed. Became a bit of a vicious circle because she wouldn't come in because of the migraine, and when she felt behind (more than being behind) she would get stressed and get more migraines. In the end we learnt to (gentle) force her into the studio ;)

Anyway, just dropping in to say hi, and thanks for the inspiration!

    Hiya KC,
    Lovely to 'see' you:D
Re the accounts - all of mine are with the same bank, they just let me keep opening more current accounts. I have 6 accounts - bills, spending, groceries, girls clubs, grocery float (money put aside each week ready for the upcomning new month) and the girls own money. The girls club one isn't getting used as much now as they have given up guides and gym...so will use that to possible store money for car mot etc. I love having a separate grocery account, that's one thing I really recommend.

You are so right about the college - I find when I make myself go in I come away feeling much more positive and motivated about it. This week and last week were study days so I haven't been skiving:rotfl: It's hard to drag myself out of the house on college days tho (I only have to go once a week:o), but I work the other 4 days so I just love the day to rest/catch up on housework etc.

Today's happy things - painting nails with my daughter, finishing work at 2.30, sitting in pjs on the sofa knowing I'm having a lie-in tomorrow....and happy as my trial of being lactose free seems to have settled my evil insides:T

Ah La E, how kind of you to post that for me...will trundle off and have a nosey at the link. I need all the vitamins I can get - I have to have B12 injections as I don't absorb it. One good thing though - I don't seem to absorb fat now, I can't put weight on no matter what I eat, it leaves me straight away, so am feeling nice and slim right now:T

  • Good morning:j
DD has been picked up by ex and taken to meet her friends for a day at the cinema then shopping. My Body Shop order arrived at 9 this morning which was handy - I swiftly wrapped up :jone of the little gift cube sets for dd's pal's birthday. I then ordered a load more of them - they're reduced to £3 and with the 30% off code, cost £2.10 each - bargain! They have a mini shower gel, body lotion and shower puff in. I have a selection of different ones ready for more presents over the year, very pleased. I also ordered myself a deep moisturising face cream - it was on offer too and then got the 30% off - I love this forum:D:D

So, I've had a quick tidy round but need to dust and hoover. Washing is on and will join last night's load of school uniform on the airer.

Here's a quick list (for my own benefit, focus my bain) of what I need to get done:
    • dust and hoover lounge and bedrooms
    • Hoover down the stairs
    • Finish my essay notes then start writing it
    • finish Avon order for my sis - lots of reductions of make up I need
    • pick up dd from shops later
    • write next week's meal plan and accompanying shopping list
    • decide whether I'll go to the shop or get it delivered:)
    • ironing (it's mounting up) - that'll be a Sun morn job while watching 'Something for the Weekend on bbc2)
    • sort through magazine rack/box thing - it's full and overflowing
    • empty airing cupboard of clean clothes and put away
    • ring Asda cc and pay off balance from Grocery account
    • watch casualty on sky+ this afternoon ready for tonight's one...missed it last week
Ok, most important thing to do is the essay - so off for a mad tidy/hoover so I can relax knowing nothing needs doing:rotfl:

    Afternoon;)
I made a good start on my essay yesterday, so feeling quite pleased with myslef. Must crack on soon as girls coming home at 3, earlier than usual.

I've been busy this morning - have hoovered all of the house, dusted and tidied girls room (took a while:o), stripped all the beds and put 2 loads in to wash. Some is on the line as it's a lovely sunny day - just nice for it to get a blow about....good lord I sound like my mum:rotfl::rotfl:

So, pretty tidy here. I have huge pile of ironing...will do that when girls are here - I must use this time on my own to work. Will have plenty of time during Dancing on Ice to iron:)

DD2 was a good girl and didn't buy anything in town yesterday - only a fruit shoot:rotfl: I paid for her cinema ticket and lunch, she didn't part with a penny of her own money...well trained:D DD1 went to town with her dad and bought school shoes (paid for by moi:o) and couple of other bits, but he can pay, I'm not giving him the money.

Asda delivery is due any time - I went for the cheap 8hour slot - between 12 and 8. Saw they're in the area around 2-3, so reckon it might appear then. Ok, better go and do some more essay while I have peace.

Oooooh onepoll is on £37.60 - nearly at payout:beer:

Have had a good day at work, day flew by and am now going to do a quick bit of my essay while girls are out. Dinner is cooking - a Nigella chicken in tomatoey sauce stuff, which one dd and I have with pasta and the other has potato waffles (classy;)). I even made a banana loaf after work quickly to use up some old bananas.

Am feeling quite cheery so far this week, everything seems to be going well:D Am just enjoying lots of little things - god i shound cheesy. Just had a lovely relaxing weekend, got a few bits done, happy to go back to work as i do enjoy it. Have no college this week so can do some work as well as a little rest. Next weekend is just me and girls - and will go meet my mum and dad for coffee on Sun morn.

So - must go and do some work, then I'll feel very happy with myself:)

    Hi Milly

Sounds like a fab day :) Glad you're getting a bit more of your essay done too. A little bit at a time and it'll soon be finished. :T

Your tea sounds lovely - is it from Nigella's book? I think I'll be waiting on mine for a while - OH is making it but he's just had a packet of crisps and a chocolate bar... Oh well, if you can't beat 'em you gotta join 'em :p

Yes it's from 'Nigella Express' - it's real name is Pollo alla cacciatora. It's nice and easy - I've adapted the recipe and use bacon not pancetta, onion not spring onion, chunks of chicken breast not thighs and dried rosemary and don't use beans in it. Here's a link if you're interested... http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/chickenallacacciator_87054

Hope you're all impressed - I'm back doing some essay, not much but want to get a little more down:T
