:hello: Hello, milly, I was thinking of you tonight when Holby was on. I was all weepy when Mark was leaving at the end and what, on earth, is Hanson up to?? Was his plan to get rid of Mark all along, but surely they'd need another CEO? Intriguing!
Good luck with your appointment tomorrow. Hope you get some good news.
If I were you I'd go to the training, it might earn you a few brownie points:D0 -

Decided against it - I need to get some of the essay going, plus I need to nip to Tesco for a few bits and with my hosp appt this afternoon I need this morning to do it:odetermined_new_ms wrote: »good luck at the Hospital Mils - thinking of you xI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Good luck, I hope your appointment goes well.
Re the lactose intolerance test I'm sure I have read somewhere that we are all lactose intolerant to a degree. If I have got this wrong ignore me. If cutting back is helping then that can only be a good thing and you are right when you say that it is something that you can control. I found that every afternoon I always got an awful stomach ache and bloating until someone told me that they couldn't eat cucumber because it gave them dreadful wind - what was I eating everyday? Cucumber!:rotfl:
You probably do this anyway but have you thought about keeping a food diary for a few weeks to see which things you have the most adverse reactions to? Sausages seem to be a bad one for me unless they have got a higher than normal percentage of meat in them.

I don't keep a food diary actually, but think it's something I should do - so later on I'm going to dig out a pretty notebook (that won't be hard, between the 3 of us we have stationery everywhere;)) and really write down every single thing I eat.
Have felt less bloated and much more settled during the day - but a bit grumble today, not sure why. I did buy some lactofree milk for my coffee...which tastes just fine and can't think of anything else that I've had this morning that might have set it off. Consultant might say it can go funny any time, but I'm sure that I can help it anyway.
Ok, a bit more of my essay planning then I'll go - quite look forward to sitting up at the hosp with my book, peace for a while:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hooray, £50 on Quidco for my home insurance has validated at long last:beer: Hopefully that'll pay out soon.
Just had a reply from Boots about my bashed Gok gift set - they said to return it for a refund, gah - they let me keep the damaged Soap+Glory set at Xmas:o Oh well, I only paid £11, for the set worth £45, so may as well keep the contents for myslef...or I could pop them in a sparkly gift bag for my pal, still a lovely present - good idea. Toiletries is the last thing I need, I have Soap+Glory coming out of my ears:rotfl:
Ok, must go now.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Milly - how did you get on?
Not bad thank you - he's organising an MRI scan for me to see if there's any Crohn's returning and I had blood tests this morning, along with my B12 injection. He said it all felt fine when he prodded it, I don't think it's come back (hope not:o) and hopefully a scan will show this.
I'm feeling not bad at all with the lactose free diet - my insides are difinitely more settled this week....so that's hopeful. He didn't seem paricularly interested when I asked about that being a contributor to my problems...but he did admit that milk products can affect it, but he said not the cause. That's fine, but if lactose is affecting it, even a little, then if cutting it out can help then I'll keep doing it;)
Thank you for asking:AI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Thank goodness it's the weekend:beer: I'm so tired, proper weary in my old bones:rotfl: No plans really - just some housework, ironing, resting, reading, watching a few bits I've recorded.....oh and the small matter of an essay:D
Girls are with their dad - one off tonight and the other is meeting friends tomorrow so going from here then will stay with him tomorrow night. So going to have a lovely quiet, restful weekend and try to regain some energy - that might be a tad hopeful, but I can have a go:p
I had a parcel from Boots when I came home - 3 gorgeous eye make up sets I ordered, 2 for my girls and one for a present. They were originally £20ish each...I found them on the lovely Grabbit board reduced to £6. I gave the girls a big set of them for Xmas, again a bargain before XMas when they were reduced from over £30, and in the 3 for 2 so bought 3 for about £18 then. Girls absolutely love them and they are excellent quality, bright colours. So - birthday present stash for them started:T
I have quite a few gift sets in my pressie stash, mostly from Boots sale, my sister is done, as is one of mum's presents, bro in law and ex's....fab:D
Ok, going to have a quick tidy round before girls are in.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hi Milly,
I found you while looking for another thread; you're title really appealed to me - I think that understanding what actually makes you happy and what we do to conceal the fact that we're not is really key to being MSE.
You've also inspired me to start piggy banking - seems to really help because you know where the different accounts are doing, all separated out.
On the college work, I know how you feel, starting was always the hardest thing for me too. I also think that going in helps a lot -keeps you connected with other people and stops you feeling too isolated. I had a friend in college who used to have migraines when she got stressed. Became a bit of a vicious circle because she wouldn't come in because of the migraine, and when she felt behind (more than being behind) she would get stressed and get more migraines. In the end we learnt to (gentle) force her into the studio
Anyway, just dropping in to say hi, and thanks for the inspiration!
