'Be Happy'...Milly's mission for 2011

Thanks maman, your food sounds lovely - can I come for tea?:rotfl:
I used to do sausage casserole - with a sachet of casserole mix, is that rubbish? I am not a very imaginative cook; I can't just magic up a recipe, I need to be given a recipe to follow:o
Chicken thigh casserole would be good - I do have one recipe the girls enjoy, it's a bbq-type sauce made with ketchup, worcester sauce, vinegar, paprika, sugar...poured over chicken thighs and cooked for a while. It goes nice and sticky - must put that on the menu for the follwoing week.
The girls do like to cook, I was going to say dd2 in particular but dd1 is showing more of an interest now. They can do bolognese and dd2 makes lovely meatballs:D I want to raise girls that can cook and enjoy home cooked stuff, which they do. DD1 definitely has never really liked 'easy' typical child food such as nuggets, chips, burgers - she's always loved a good roast, steak pies, pasta dishes.
Anyway, am procrastinating again - off to set dd2 up with painting her papier mache egyptian vase and back to reading:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Oooooh DNMS, what's Singapore rice? (Sounds exotic;)) and how do you make quesadillas - is it easy? I've fancied doing them but never bothered to find out how:rotfl:
Thanks for the casserole link....off to have a look.

quesadillas are soooooo easy. put a 2 or 3 chicken breasts in the sc with a tin of chopped toms, half a tin of water, a chopped onion, a tsp of chilli flakes & a tsp of sugar and cook on low for the day (about 5 hrs in mine) then the sauce should be quite dry, shread the chicken (get 2 forks & kinda shread it). get a frying pan, a little oil & heat and put 1 flour tortilla in, add chicken sauce, some grated cheddar, any veg that need using up - sweetcorn, beans, oooooo roasted butternut squash is good, pepper etc, a bit more cheese and another tortilla on top. cook on one side, turn and cok on the other (the cheese will melt & stick it together. serve with sour cream, salad, refried beans (all of the above, only if we have t! its a real "if its there we'll have t meal"!)DF as at 30/12/16

And another NSD today:beer: 4 in a row!!
I gave EOn my meter readings online - I did change from them to another company a few months ago but they tempted me back with a better deal and promise of lower amount per month. Thig is, I didn't realise the direct debit hadn't been set up so wondered why Jan payment didn't come out:o After entering my readings it said I'd used £140 of gas and electricity - not bad I don't think since the end of Oct. I was £14 in credit so I paid them £50 online. I set up the direct debit then - but it wants £72 - more than I was paying before I swapped providers...grrrrr and I cant remember what the figure was the guy gave me when I rejoined...oh well. If I pay too much I'll only end up in credit, so not too bad.
All fed, time to watch EE then Holby and get an early night;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
So much for my early night...I didn't drop off properly til about 3am:eek: Just wasn't tired enough, argghh. So not gone to college today, am too useless. I've had an hour nap on the sofa, that'll have to do - any more and I worry I won't sleep tonight and I have to go to work tomorrow:o
So, will try get some more essay prep done. I also didn't get round to looking through recipe books yesterday - have added the sausage casserole and quesadillas to my possible meals - although i don't have a slow cooker so will check out how to do the sauce without. I used to make some sort of basic goulash years ago and remember that was easy and tasty, so will have a look for a recipe.
So...at least today I won't spend on coffee at college;) I have found a site thro one of the boards on here selling perfume oils that smell like posh ones - all with fab reviews. I know I have a good few bottles of perfume, but at 5 for £10 I might fancy trying them....hmmm, it'll ruin my NSD so will think carefully:rotfl:
Bank looks ok....transferred £70 out of spends account into savings, left £50 in although I needn't have as TCs are in tomorrow so spends account will get £100 more. Girls do need taking to the hairdresser on Saturday, and as it's one of the walk in, no appt places it's not as cheap - but they love it there and I'm never organised enough to make an appt at a hairdresser. I did go to my h/d with them and she was a bit rude to them, said they were too quiet and didn't speak to her...umm they're only young girls?!
Anyway, off to try shift the fog in my head with a shower:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I ordered some Boots goodies on Xmas eve in the 1/2 price sale - gifts for this year. The Soap+glory lovely big box set arrived yesterday, was £10 from £20 - but the big box the stuff was in was torn at 2 corners, presumably before sending as the outer packaging was all perfect. So I emailed saying how disappointed I was as it was for a gift and the box should have been one to re-use and keep toiletries in.
They have just replied, saying they've refunded me the £10...and I get to keep the box:beer: Obviously I can't use it as a gift now and to be honest I don't need Soap and Glory stuff as I got loads for Xmas and bought the tote bag when it was reduced from £60 to £25, so the bits will either go on ebay or go as gifts just not in the gift box. Pleased with that:T
Off to get my flu jab soon:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Just nipped out for my jab and also bought some Nyt*l, to hopefully stop my silly sleep tonight;) So that was £4.79:eek: Also spent £3 on bread, milk and marg all which comes out of the grocery budget.
And, I must confess....I bought some of the perfume oils...but, in my defense, I decided to go for 3 for £6 not 5 for £10. I chose the smell-a-likes of Kenzo Flowers, Hypnotic Poison and Flower Bomb - not heard of the last one but the thread on here about them raved about that particular one, plus the real version costs a lot...worth a try for £2!
Have come back and dd2's conked out on the sofa...has as much stamina as her mother:rotfl:
So, salmon and wedges for her and I, leftover bol for eldest...nice and easy tonight:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I love Flowerbomb!!! It's delish. Always give it a wee spray in boots0
