I'm looking for something to join, and came across SW.

I'm sceptic, looking at the free trial menu on SW's websitr. Can someone explain/justify how the hell the following can work:

    1) Spaghetti is a so-called free food, therefore have as much as you want.
Really?? Even 2000 calories' worth of spaghetii? Doesn't that go against the fundamental priniciple of losing weight by burning more calories than consuming?

    2) Menu says that for snacks you can have "wherever, whenever and however much you like!"
Really?? Is a Snickers bar and a bag of popcorn at midnight ok then??

    1) If you were to eat spaghetti until you were full I doubt you would eat 2000 calories worth. 2000 calories is around 500g worth! SW encourages you to make the right choices when it comes to food therefore the "free" food is always free for a reason like fruit and veg and low GI food.

A friend of mine does calorie counting, and for a laugh I decided to calorie count my typical daily SW menu and I came out as eating around 1300 calories. I just don't have the hassle of having to weigh and write down and work out every single thing I put in my mouth.

    2) A snickers bar has 16 syns, you get 15 syns a day. So on SW no you wouldn't be able to have a snickers bar and a bag of popcorn every night. If you really wanted to have no syns in your main meals and use up all your syns on a midnight snack then yes you could, but what they hope will happen is that you will fill up on "free" healthy foods so you won't actually feel hungry enough to want to eat the snickers.

One of my favourite programs to watch is Biggest Loser (USA version already started, Uk one starts this week with the lovely Davina McCall)

Oh grrrrr I always miss the start of the BL USA! It's a hard one to google info about since it's already been shown in the US so I don't want spoilers.

EDIT - gosh I really am slow at typing haha.

I'm a Biggest Loser addict - at one time last year I was watching the US, Australia and Uk versions - OH calls it my 'fat !!!!!!'..... how rude.
The US version only started last week on Living and UK starts tomorrow night on ITV - I think it's the first time it's been on a main channel. I do find it inspirational as someone else said - no matter their size, they all exercise. I find Jillian scary too.... I would much prefer Bob! ( ot Baarb)!
Talking about age - it's my big 5-0 this year - I don't feel it and don't want to look it! That's my big target for August of 3 stone off at least!
    Good night!
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........

  • The spicy mexican rice one is geee-orjus, and well worth saving your cheese for to grate over the top of it and have as a late night just-in-from-the-pub-and-got-munchies snack ;) Its at the higher end of the uncle ben's syns though.

bedbound for 10 years the programme said  A box of chocolate bars and 3 multipack bags of crisps a day

I missed the start of the programme, thought they said housebound for 10 years and bedbound for 3? Either way someone was bringing him a heck of a lot of food:eek:

  • Morning everyone,

I think I am going to give up my class, I have only been going for a few weeks but don't enjoy it and feel ucomfortable. So hoping I have the willpower to go it alone.

I love the Biggest Loser and can't wait to watch it.

  • Morning all

Did my at home WI this morning and I have lost 1lb. I was a tad :( about it as I've stuck to plan this week 100% and exercised 5 times but then I realised it was my star week so I was okay with it then :rotfl:
