Sorry Dizzy, realised you asked what they taste like too! I think they taste a bit like onion bhajis. The Cauldron ones are lovely - although not the Moroccan spiced variety they do, i don't like them at all.

Consultant wonder if you can help me, the recipe i used form SW world of flavours had 2 eggs in it and my mixture was pretty wet! The recipe i linked to and the one you posted are the same as i used but without the egg? Is that a mistake in the world of flavours book??

It doesn't list the reduced fat one as a HEA unfortunately.

How odd, that doesn't make sense does it? I'd have thought a low fat version would be there and you'd be allowed more than 42g.
Consultant I wonder if you can shed any light on this and the soft cheese thing i.e is soft cheese a HEA at all or is it just a HEB on green?
I have seen peoples menus include soft cheese as HEA and am wondering if they are having syns they're not aware of.
    {sorry I keep asking this but am thinking of others :D}

Ive just looked at my books again and soft cheese is def only listed as a HEB on green.
Soft cheese is not listed anywhere on the HEA bit hun......strange and confusing though :o x x
  • I don't get the soft cheese thing: would be great if consultant or somebody else knew the answer! I was wondering if it is because it has enough protein in to count as a B, but not enough calcium to count as an A?
Either way I often cheat by calling it an A choice :o in fact, i'm doing so for my late lunch in a mo :o

Feeling peed of that I decided to order something at McDonalds today (second day in a row!) to have something while my friend had a full meal. I felt their fruit packs were a bit too awful to sit and eat while she had her meal, so I had a white coffee (within a allowance) and a toffee sundae - thought it would be cheaper syns than anything much else - well knock me down with a feather, I've just looked it up and its 16! have got stir fry sauce left over and already had 2 syns with weetabix, so am going to allow myself 20 syns in total today, and just make sure I'm having plenty of superfrees :o

Thats what I've been thinking and then seeing people use it as HEA. They're having syns they're not aware of so was trying to clarify it.
    Thanks Dizzy :A

i had a blood test on Friday to see what my thyroid levels are again and then to discuss treatment.

Popped into sainsburys today and they have pitted dark cherries in a tin with apple juice and no added sugar which = about 10 syns the whole tin , they taste amazing with yogurts and I dont have the juice so its probally alot less syns.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
  • Hi y'all!!

Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice about joining a group. I think I might go for it, but have decided to commit 100% again in the mean time.

Have had a lovely but rare day all to myself, and not going out tonight so having a lovely and also rare Saturday night in! This means I've had all day to plan some meals and cook up some things I've been fancying for a while.

I got weighed this morning and am 12st 7 and a quarter (don't forget the quarter!!). Not impressed as I was over a stone less last summer, so it's back on track and head in gear from now onwards!

Anyway, it's day one again for me, and have had a lovely filling syn free breakfast, and made a syn free canneloni this afternoon, which turned out great!

I made a quorn bolognese type sauce with lots of veggies in, like onion, garlic, peppers, mushrooms, courgettes, herbs etc., and passata and seasoning. I used this to stuff canneloni tubes, then put some passata in the bottom of an oven dish, seasoned it and placed the stuffed tubes on top. Covered these in the rest of the passata, then made a creamy topping from quark, fat free fromage frais, so 0% greek yogurt ('cos it needed using!), mixed it up with an egg, seasoned with salt, pepper and a little mustard powder.
Threw some chopped basil over the canneloni then covered in the creamy topping and baked. It looked as good as it tased!

Decided not to add any cheese on top as I've had too much lately! Anyway, it turned out really great, and I didn't miss the cheese at all :j.

Off to treat myself now to a coffee with a splash of light evaporated milk in it - it makes it nice and creamy - a change from the usual skimmed milk :). Not sure how many syns are in that though, so will overestimate!

Hope you all have a nice evening.

    :o

Yep - that's the reason for it only being a HEB, and it is only a HEB on green days. Any other day and it needs to be synned.
