  • Eh? I think she had mainly neutral free foods on it, so if she was on green she could have had noodles (free on green), if on red she could have had meat (free on red). Having one or the other would mean she still had the two healthy extra B's she had planned.

    Yes? Or... no? :rotfl:

I didn't realise you lived so close - maybe we should do coffee sometime?
ah, see I was making things more complicated, trying to use the noodles/meat as a healthy extra on the "opposite" day, sorry! I'll let you know next time I plan a trip to Chester! It'd be nice, specially as we can also swap broken ankle tales :rotfl:
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Thanks, Primmer :) I think I will have to go back to feeling 'stuffed' all week, like I did at the beginning ;). That certainly seemed to work - I still can't quite come to terms that it DOES actually work lol.

I will give the SW quiche a go, it sounds good. Do you par cook your potato slices before you put them in the pan? Might try it out at the weekend as I've already had two eggs this morning and I'm sure it's not wise to have too many in a week. I would never have thought of using Smash!

    Thank you:T

I make a SW quiche most weeks, but find the children enjoy it so much I hardly get a look in! I made one today, and heres' what I put in it:
thinly sliced potatoes on bottom baked for 10 mins before adding rest of ingredients, peppers, mushrooms, bacon, onions, celery, 6 eggs, 1 pot of l/f cottage cheese with onion & chives, 1 tub of natural yogurt (out of date, but fine to cook), 2 large sprinkles of low fat cheddar & small sprinkle of parmesan (mixed in with the eggs/yog/cottage cheese mix). Baked for about 30-40 mins, but mine is a large one filling a big lasagne dish. Tasted absolutely yummy.

I only know EE and get confused (not difficult I know:o) when I try anything else. I'm out for two meals this coming week. What sort of choices do you make? types of restaurant and meal ideas, if you don't mind?

I've had roasted meat, mixed veg, potatoes, etc. At the Indian I had chicken tikka starter, and a chicken biryani for main course, at the chinese I stick to mainly meat/veg dishes with plain rice or noodles... avoid the sticky sauces, deep fried stuff.
It's fairly common sense really to avoid anything fatty, fried, stuffed with cheese, etc. If you like fish that's always a good choice. I try to choose a main meal that will be satisfying and filling, then have a coffee when others have desserts. The main issue with restaurants is that they use oils so liberally when cooking. You can always discretely call ahead if you know where you're going to eat out, and ask about a low fat option from the menu, so you're prepared. If you know it's going to be hard to eat within plan, decide to make that a flexi-syn day, use syns on food and not alcohol, and then do damage limitation the rest of the week as necessary.
Erm not busy as such, just having an off week, AGAIN, I have 'come on' AGAIN, which is driving me mad but in a way a good thing as last year I only had 4 'time of the month's' which obviously does not add up, the doc said that if I loose weight they should come back and blow me down with a feather they have come back with a vengance! at one point it was every other week, now there seems to be 2 weeks in between so I hope it's settling down, but it's messing with my hormomes!!!!!!!!!! making me a miserable, angry old bint! :o
Plus I have started my new job :D ok it's working from home but at the moment involves alot of research beleive it or not! :rotfl:

Oh Swimming, I really want to learn how to swim, I also really want to take the baby swimming, but right now that is not an option, hopefully his Dad will start having him soon and can take him, he's such a water baby! and watching my eldest learning to swim just makes me feel bad that I have only ever took him once :o
Anyhoo, how did you get on? x

Aw that's rotten hun. My TOTM has been worse since I stopped being on the pill, and it was making me feel quite poorly each time. It has settled down more now, but has taken blimmin ages to do so. Take good care of yourself, and have my sympathies on the homone front. It saps me of all patience where the children are concerned, and I feel so guilty for being snappy with them. Have you tried Evening Primrose Oil and Starflower Oil in the week before you come on? I do find they help, and a friend of mine with awful PMT swears by them now.

We didn't get to swimming in the end because my BF was aching so much after the previous night's gym workout. We'll go next week instead. I wasn't too bothered because I'm still doing lots of work trying to organise myself to try to get my cake business off the ground. How's the new job going? Have you earnt a pound yet? lol I'm intrigued with the research, but then I do have a very dirty mind, so you can imagine where it's wandered off to.....:o

Right gotta go to bed for some shut eye. Have a great w/end.

    Food today:
b - Activia, blueberries, plum, banana
L - dyno rod soup, SW quiche (2 syns for cheese), WW yogurt, Irish Yogurts Diet peach & nectarine (free... has anyone tried these? I got mine in Morrisons)
D - Pork chops, mash, green beans, broccoli, gravy (2 syns)
    HeB - Fibre Plus bar
    HeA - milk in teas
Snacks - SW quiche (2 syns)
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

42g normal mozzarella is 1 HEA on all plans.

57g reduced fat mozzarella is a HEB on green.

28g reduced fat mozzarella is 2.5 syns on all plans.

Is reduced fat one a HEa as well? If so how much? Must be more than normal I'd have thought.

    Thanks for looking :A

Sadly I'm reading this after a very flexi night out. I had a seafood linguine followed by lamb shank and I think any syns were definitely in the oil. BUT (a big one) I had lots of wine as well. Damage limitation , here I come. Isn't it sad how you can sabotage a week on just one night out??:(

Decided to take a day off from the gym today - feeling like I'm overdoing it a little. Not in terms of how I feel, but my times have slowed on my running and rowing. My 10k run yesterday took 56 minutes which isn't much slower than usual but I would normally aim to do a 5km rowing session in around 16 minutes but only managed 19 minutes last night :(

Rest day definitely needed I think.

sorry I havent popped in for a few weeks , I got a bit down about being unable to loose the weight.
The doctor gave me a blood test and it looks like I have a underactive thyroid - which causes weight gain .

So need a much stricter eating plan , probally no syns :(.
    Kindness costs nothing :)

Ive had under active thyroid for the last 21 years (when I had to have 96% of it removed so Im on meds now) you need to be eating little & often to keep your metabolism going.....which is why SW is the perfect eating plan (many years ago it was the only one recommended by the British Thyroid foundation because of the very fact that we are able to eat whenever we want with no restrictions .i.e 3 meals a day) If you eat MORE especially the superfree & free you will lose the weight on this plan.....even with the thyroid problem. I wouldnt cut out ALL the syns either....they are put into the plan for a reason - to stop you becoming bored & to make you're meals 'manageable' i.e cooking ;) x
