You won't get a very thick base to it with just the stock and tinned tomatoes, that's the only thing - whether or not that matters is up to your tastes! If you want the liquid thicker, then ingredients which help this are: potato putting the pasta in earlier, and using some dried lentils
Oh, and I would prob leave out the green beans, cos they're not traditionally included in minestrone I don't think.
If once you've made it you're in doubt, before throwing it away try adding another stock cube, more seasoning, and/or a teaspoon of sugar.
Good luck -I'm quite nervous now because it'll be my fault if yours tastes horrible! :rotfl:
don't worry i won't blame you!!
I am leaving out the courgette cos on secnod thoughts i think courgette is a bit of a tricky one - nice if stir fried or cooked quickly, but a bit mushy and stinky if stewed for a long time. maybe this has been the downfall of my previous soups!
I would prefer it to be a watery soup rather than thick so that's fine.
I only do thick soup if i'm not using beans or pasta (they are the thick bit, if you know what i mean, or do i sound a bit thick now?!)
will also add garlic of course nothing is complete without a bit of lovely garlic!!
to be honest i'll prob mess about with it and tweak it so much while i'm cooking it that i wont possibly be able to blame you if it goes badly!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

thanks sary!
I dont have many of the veg in that list but the cooking methods and seasoning instructions will be very handy (i'll keep the whole recipe tho and next time i go to the shops i'll get the veg that's listed so i can give it a proper try)
Cor bacon would be a bit lush in it... i do have bacon, i could add a little bit....
Ok I am going to chuck a load of stuff in and see... will report back after lunch! thanks for all your help! wish me luck!Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

It still didn't stop her choosing one of the usual 3 who get SOTW, who lost over 7lb due to gastroenteritis... which isn't really being successful with the plan is it? I'd lose 7lb if I couldn't keep anything down for the next 6 days. God I sound so bitter, don't I? hahaha I'm not really, I don't think I should be getting it, but do think if it would be more valuable a tool if it were to be awarded to a variety of worthy slimmers.
Unfortunately SOTW is an automatic thing based on weight loss. The computer tells you who has won it! You are excluded if it's your first weigh in, if you gained the week before or if you missed the last session. Other than that it's simply the person who lost the most weight regardless of how they did it.
It means it's harder for people who have less to lose to win it as you just dont pull big numbers. I've got it twice in 9 months. Once was when I was ill with gastroenteritis (5.5 loss but gained the next 2 weeks) and once following Christmas. There were only 3 of us who went to group and lost following xmas and out of those 3 only 2 of us lost after new year. I managed 1.5 and she managed 1 so I won. I don't expect I will get it ever again lol.
I prefer the biggest loser style winners based on percentage of weight loss haha.Hi everyone
It is my first week back on the wagon and I lost 4lbs so I am really happy with that :j

Can anyone advise in the next 10 mins if the Green Book - Food optimizing is the one you need as I've spotting it on Ebay. Unfortunately my nearest class until I go back to London is a 15min walk uphill, two buses and anther 10 mins walk for me and the baby!Team PINK arrived 28/05/2010 8lb 9oz0

Mirry - if you are bunged up and due on you can safely disregard the scales for a while - I promise, please believe me!
Your menu for today looks fine (which sausages are you using?) but I still think you should at least have 2 B choices, because of being, well, bunged up. If you are going to regularly avoid your A choices, then please include things like quark, fat free fromage frais and free yoghurts in your diet (I can't work out if you are dairy free?) - or at the very very least, take calcium tablets. Please?
I promise you that if you follow the plan 100%, you will lose weight over the course of the month. Slimming world promises this or a refund to those who go to class, and they have never paid out in over 40 years. But you must eat enough - and if you don't have your healthy extras and syns, you could be in danger of eating so few calories that your body thinks its in starvation, and it really will hold on to every ounce of fat.Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

Honestly, these 2 things will make you gain! Please don't be upset or disheatened and certainly don't fall off the wagon/tank!
I find that green tea helps me to get things moving, or try the dyno-rod soup that everyone on here raves about (I haven't tried it).
Other than that just relax and keep going. You will probably find a huge loss next week.0 -

Yes it is (check what date it was if possible, because it is updated regularly). I'll just go and search ebay and post back with a suitable listing so you can see the pic
Its the green book in the middle of this little lot you need to get hold of:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Slimming-world-starter-pack-used-/190493796451?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Dieting_Slimming_ET&hash=item2c5a50a863
It looks like most of the listings include the starter pack (which is good to have the whole thing) but not this book - probably because the person's weight gets written inside itNothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
