  • Magnolia: I think mackrel is quite an oily fish, and is therefore higher in calories per 100g than the same of the other fish? Although I'm not a fish eater, so do ignore me if this is ridiculous :o

Ooooh well done Hun :D now don't you be getting giddy and running up and down the stairs showing off :rotfl::rotfl: take it steady!!!!

Do you get carsick a lot? have you tried seabands? they are things that you wear on your wrists, I have to wear them as I was realllllly bad after the last op with motion sickness, but wasnt allowed to take any meds as my brain wouldnt learn the signals if I did. I still use them now as the Oscillopscia (bouncy vision) makes me wanna heave when we travel....but these work great!

Oh Dizzy, best laid plans and all that - its so frustrating when some well meaning person scuppers your plans for you, isn't it? With any luck the extra oil in those things will help clean through your insides ;)

Hi all, my happy mood has totally disappeared today and am feeling very ! Got millions of work to do but got called into a totally pointless meeting where I sat from 11 til 3.30 bored out of my tree and contributing nothing! On top of that there was food and I was sooooooo hungry I couldn't resist :wall:! It wasn't too bad - a smoked salmon sandwich - but it means I can't have any syns tonight and its WI tomorrow:angry:!

But onwards and upwards, I'm planning on making the SW Italian Mushroom Pasta for tea tonight and finishing an application form for a new job. Don't really think I'm qualified for it, but still worth a try:undecided. For tomorrow I'm having the usual fruit, yog and oats for brekkie and then either left over mushroom pasta or chicken pasta salad for lunch.

Good luck with the job! I'm a bit miffed because I haven't heard back from one I'd applied to 2 weeks ago, was rather hoping they'd give me an interview while I'm this end of the country, but not even an acknowledgement - I find that rude

Your dinner sounds lovely, what's in the sauce apart from mushrooms? I bet there's not Mush-Room for anything else! :rotfl:

& a salmon sandwich won't blow the diet for this week. Good luck for WI tomorrow :)

Dinner tonight was quite healthy :T my day looks like this:
dry fried potatoes & egg (1)
    soup (6) & toast (b)
ham (b), jacket spud, cream cheese,(a) beans
    milk in T&Cs - (a)
I would love a fizzy drink but we've got none apart from sugary lemonade, and I'm nto wasting my syns on that! :p I think a square or two of fudge will be just the ticket to mop up some syns tonight. :T

Lost 1.5lbs on Monday night WI, so 6.5lbs in two weeks - was hoping for the half stone, but maybe next week ;)

    Today -

B - 4 ryvita (HEB), 4 laughing cow light triangles (HEA)

L - 2 egg omlette with onions, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes. Fruit salad, mullerlight

D - Quorn curry with veggies and egg noodles.

    S - Mocha (4.5 syns), hifi bar (6 syns)

The Quorn curry was a bit of a disaster to be honest. Was really hungry but couldn't think what to have (everyone else was having pizza!) so I cooked some veggies in frylight and added Quorn chicken pieces and a bit of stock, curry powder, spices and water. That was all reasonably tasty until I added some frozen chinese stir-fry veggies - they were absolutely disgusting and tasted of plastic! They smelled really vile too. :eek:In the end I didn't finish it all, so was a bit of a non-starter.

Off to look for some Quorn recipes that taste good :rotfl:

    Well done all losers :T

How come kippers are free and smoked mackerel isn't

aaargh you had me rushing for the website to check they ARE free:eek:... then I caught myself, remembered how long it would take for the blinkin' website to load, and checked in the book instead. Yup, they ARE free as long as cooked without fat/butter.

I saw this recipe on Lorraine this am and thought it looked really nice and could be adapted to SW with a bit of tweaking. If you use 1/2 a HEB for the bread crumbs, and dry saute the onions, and VLF creme fraiche I think it could be syn free.

    SPICED RICE CAKE
    Serves 4

    Ingredients
    ½ x diced white onion,
2 x cloves of minced garlic
    1 x stick diced celery
1 x thumb sized piece of peeled chopped ginger
    100g x diced butternut squash
    50g x frozen peas
    1 1/2 x tsp medium curry powder
1 x tsp dried chilli flake
    2 x large eggs
2 x slices of white or wholemeal bread blitzed into breadcrumbs
    2 x tbsp chopped coriander
    200g x cooked basmati rice
    4 x tbsp crème fraiche
    3 x sliced spring onions
    Juice of half a lime

    Method
Heat a large oven proof non stick frying pan, add a splash of oil then saut! the onion.

Next add garlic, ginger ,diced butternut squash, celery, curry powder and chilli flake. Cook the mixture for 5 minutes to soften the vegetables and cook out the spices. Then take a large bowl and mix the cooked rice with the spiced vegetables, breadcrumbs, chopped coriander, and two beaten eggs. Wipe out the frying pan with kitchen paper, add a splash of fresh oil and put the rice mixture back into the pan, cook for a minute then put into a preheated oven at 180c (gas mark 4) for 10 minutes until hot in the middle and crispy on the top.
Leave to stand for a minute after cooking and prepare the crème fraiche. Mix with the sliced spring onions and a squeeze of lime juice, to serve take a plate that fits the top of the frying pan then flip the pan over to reveal the rice cake garnish with picked coriander. Serve with spring onion crème fraiche.

For those in MS mode, I had a look at the DietChef website (no reason just mooching) and if you register, they send you a meal to try free - I got a pouch of minestrone soup this morning - it comes out as free on EE on the syns calculator! Am planning to have it tomorrow!

Worked out really hard at the gym with a bit of boxing as a side order! AM feeling a lot more in control this week - supergluing myself to the SWtank has really helped - can I have the keys for the weekend please Dizzy??? mwa mwa! (hollywood airkisses!).

Now going to watch the fat !!!!!! about can crash diets kill me??
NO EXCUSES - THIS YEAR IT'S PERSONAL..........
