  • Mornin! :D
Thanks for the tips sepa - I will def look into a change of lenses/price once the ones I have are used up would be quite abig saving p/m!
Cookies were yum thanks - still some left... (probably not for long tho!)

Hey toots- welcome to the challenge ;) we do well on it most of the time but other times its easy to nip out to the shops to find something we fancy - all about balance tho! Id like to run a lot of the cupboards etc.. down before the winter really sets in (though that could be now from the state of the weather outside!) mainly also so we're not at risk of having to chuck things that have gone out of date or anything! In that spirit its chicken fajitas for tea tonite (defrosted) and sausage casserole tomorrow! still loads of chilli lurking at the back of the freezer thats probably been there a good month or so so will embark on the eat that up challenge next week methinks! how is all with you? any more news on the flat? nothing on mine am hoping it will sell by xmas!.. (or at least have an offer in by then!)

Found one more book I could list on amazon plus have some work expenses due (maybe around a tenner) and a couple of quid from tcb, more bodyshop xmas stuff to arrive today I hope, plus a box set from a series we love so thatll keep us occupied for the next few weeks I should think! Paid 11.73 off mortgage to round down to a nice even number, I could see myself getting a little ocd about this! :rotfl:

right - better get off to work I spose, its like a monsoon outside tho! would much rather curl up and go back to bed...wonder if anyone would notice..... :p

I made a huge pan of chili at the weekend so that will be me soon saying that I need to eat up all the chili in the freezer

Kick the Estate Agent up the bottom and tell them to get you some viewings, says me that should do this as well :)

I made tomato soup, home grown glut, and a big pan of sausage goulash for the freezer. And I also used up loads of bags of stuff from the freezer in the above. Now I just need to actually write out a meal plan and start eating the stuff that is in the bleep, bleep freezers.

  • hehe Radish Im with you on the chilli challenge! infact there is one defrosting for tomorrow's tea! :D (tonights tea was tuna on toast , pringles and some white chocolate!) have viewing booked for next week so fingers and toes crossed- how is yours going? have you kicked EA's butt yet?
exhausted today and off to bed in a bit , been dragging myself through this week a bit, still not long to go now!
still need to list a couple things on amazon and am glad only 2 weeks till payday...
toots- soups sound fab, good luck with the meal plan I find splitting into food groups works well
ie, chicken- roast, curry, pie, chowmein etc...
and for any other staple food youre gonna cook!
no other money saving news think my wt/health challenge has taken a backslide today so off to bed to limit any more damage and get healthy for the weekend!
    nite all :rotfl:x
  • Afternoon all!
Just catching up on some diaries with a cuppa :) Im easily pleased for a way to spend the afternoon! Busyish and expensivish weekend so its battening down the hatches till payday, planning an online shop to be delivered payday and will set yet another food-budget-related challenge! am doing well not setting foot in the supermarkets tho so todays lunch was tuna mayo sarnies/wraps (went ood yesterday but tasted ok!- the wraps not the tuna - not brave enough for ood tuna!;) ) and dinner will be burgers chips and veg (all in freezer) .

On the cookie front - froze and defrosted some and mrtyo reports they taste fine! (I am course am being healthy and as my body is a temple have not indulged in cookies :A:A:A ..... )

2 more weeks till payday and weekends consisting mostly of meetups with friends and bdays - have the pressies already so will just be petrol from trucking round and about ...

have one book and possibly a tv box set to list on amazon, will check tcb in a min and also have some expenses due - need to forage £25 somehow as well to pay for some accupuncture next week !.... off to have a hunt!

fingers and toes crossed for viewing on flat this week ! I know only one person has to decide to buy it but I wish theyd hurry up! :rotfl:
  • morning all!
    :D
On the moneysaving front making the most of some of the freebies and grabbits around and good deals on supermarket shopping (tho could mean we are eating the same things for a few months now!!) Am gonna try getting some of the mains/basics from lidl/aldi and see how this compares/prices up against the bigger supermarkets.... will report back!:p

sp3csavers appt booked in the hunt for cheaper contact lenses and 2 books now listed on amazon, still a box set and old fone of mrtyo's to list as well! (we may make our millions this way!)

thinking of euromillions tonite- perhaps I will get lucky, or perhaps it will be a couple of £ wasted ...answers on a postcard pls!

bit of a spendy few weeks on things like nights out/coffees/shopping but I think I needed it and havent gone too mad! :D

In house selling news few more viewings but not much interest ....am not sure at what stage to start thinking about dropping the price or whether to hang on in there , if I got what I paid for it (or slightly over to cover fees/decorating) Id be happy but I dont know much about buying/selling tbh! I spose its more about what we would want to buy next and whether house prices will skyrocket again at a faster rate than we could save!....

not much else to report, sitting with a cuppa glad its the halfway point of the week and must get a wriggle on to work! ;) payday end of next week so shall report back mortgage updates then! am gonna have a read of some more diaries as there are some inspirational OPs going on putting me to shame slightly on my efforts!!

I've always waited until the EA has recommended dropping the price, which I did in July and still have had no viewings

Plus chilli update - I'm having chilli for tea :j

  • Hey Radish! :)
Didnt have chilli tonight but had it yesterday and day before for tea!! getting a bit bored of chilli now! :rotfl:
Boo on the lack of viewings on your house :( certainly harder work than it looks buying and selling huh?
Another viewing booked in for the flat so will give it a while before any decisions are made!
a few more grabbit/freebies acquired today (mostly free/cheap food of various assortments!)
    nothing else to report tho!

i was just wondering where you get all the freebies? is it the 'grabbit while you can' board or the 'shop til you drop' one? i can never seem to find anything!
