Ok toots your on!! I have sent mrtyo out for bread and milk this morning - he is better at avoiding the bargains than me!
we definitely have enough to last till at least 10th November!!
now...just to find something to do with myself with all the time I usually spend shopping/bargain hunting! :rotfl:
drinks last night £25 not as bad as I predicted actually!
Apart from that I am aiming for a no spend for most of the rest of the month till payday , friends over next weekend but all catered for and the weekend after meeting up with a friend at some point but will try and make it free or at least cheap!
Was very good and resisted pre-ordering a dvd from amazon, its not out till december so it may go on the xmas list!!
task for the day:
make soup
sort out fridge (the soup ingreds have been chopped up since yesterday and my breakfast just tasted of garlic so think I may have to stop the fridge smelling somehow!! off to the OS board I think unless anyone has any plans)
Pay car tax online0 -
I have made roast tomato soup today and chicken curry - all ingredients in the freezer or cupboard or picked straight off the plants those last few days of sun really ripened almost all the remaining tomatoes. I think that I will have enough for at least one jar of green tomato chutney but probably not more. I will do that next week-end. And then I cut out a dress which should keep me busy for the next couple of weeks. Just been invited to my bothers for Sunday dinner, lovely.0

Hello there Radish!
well...as I not so subtly hinted we may have a buyer!!! :j:beer::eek:
trying not to get over-excited or jinx it hence my silence to date on here!
however, survey has been done and lots of twoing and fro-ing with solicitors so hoping to have an exchange/completion date in the pipeline soon!!
In other moneysaving news...have been printing a couple of vouchers for free food, getting some barginous woopsies, and baking a lot!:A:A
then I accidently went to the shops and for coffee this morning! ...not so :A0 -

Thanks guys
mw- yep very exciting!! keeping fingers and toes crossed!
Toots and Cath- ah yes on the food challenge/spending...my "no buying food" has slightly gone to pot but have mostly been restocking freezer and have done well on whoopsies so am telling myself is ok! hoping shopping comes in at £100 or just under for the month and have counted 15 dinners worth of stuff without having to go shopping, bread , milk and sandwich stuff and some fruit may well be required tho! one month I will catch up on myself as constantly seem to be running a "budget" from odd times of the month which dont co-incide with any payday!!
Hey Radish - yep I hear you on the phone-anxiety! am crossing fingers all going well with mine and seem to constantly be dropping more things into the solicitors! have decided I may treat myself (and mrtyo) to some nice pampering days out/treats/shopping sprees (ok that ones for me!) with the first month of not having to pay the mortgage before knuckling down to moneysaving again! but trying not to get ahead of myself as its not really done till its done!
Thanks for the good wishes Billy will pop over to yours to see how the big build is going?
Have been slacking somewhat on the moneysaving lately, mainly with some food shops which may have been slightly ott- but cheaper than takeaways and have done us for a few "convenience" meals when it wouldve been easy to pick up the phone and blow £20 on a takeaway. In that sense it saved us money as got at least 2 or more meals for our money from that!
Spending money ok this month, though bits are being siphoned off to pay solicitors, plus looking for a good account to put and money we get once all the expenses are out- thinking of setting up a FD regular saver as it pays 8% but having already switched current accounts this year not sure how often I can do that or whether it would be a lot of hassle! something to think about though! most other savers with regular banks only paying 2.5-3% that I can tell but need to do some proper research really!
Finding it harder in the colder darker days to get motivated- not done any more shreds and could definitley to with getting back on the wagon with that one!also am finding it too easy to indulge in a bit of comfort shopping/coffee-shopping though I suppose life has gotta have some of that!
few money off grocery spend vouchers so am storing them up for the next big shop, also hoping clubcard vouchers come through soon- anyone got any ideas? Im sure they normally come in November....
Also listed 1 boxset on amazon and found mrtyos old mobile but its only valued about £7 which hardly seems worth it but better than nothing I guess .... most other things decluttered to charity shops as not worth selling (unless I had the patience for ebay!) It is almost impossible to get to a post office in office hours and Im not too keen on devoting my lunch hours and/or saturday mornings to that !0
