:hello:Mornin all!
Been a while since I updated so thought Id do a quick run through to try and motivate me to get up and going this Monday morning!! I find it so hard to get up and motivated in this cold weather, I think I was some kind of hibernating creature in a former life, I am definitely not cut out for dark cold winter mornings!
Have managed a few money saving things including some amazon sales, old mobile recycling amongst other things!
Doing well at using up stuff we have in for packed lunches (tho did succumb to the shops twice last week!...) and dinners- our freezer is groaning courtesy of an online shop with voucher and just saved £14 on the next one with some vouchers too!
All seems well on the selling front, (fingers crossed!) just waiting for an exchange/completion date....then will need to up the ante looking at where it is worth saving at the moment! Think the next big projects will be the diy-ing on where we live now...I am *ahem* very good at that kinda stuff (mrtyo will back me up on this ...honest!)
No other moneysaving plans at the moment, have cleared myself out again of amazon-able stuff and musicmagpied a few bits as well so may have a new year declutter as part of the diy-project (told you I was good at it! :rotfl:)
Trying to avoid grabbit boards as xmas shopping almost finished and always end up buying loads of bargains when I look on there!....
Xmas countdown currently stands at 33 days left!!! woop!
loads more diaries I need to catch up on but for now hello to all0 -
Where are you? (I'm not a stalker honest constable)
Have you moved??Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0
ISA challenge start 2019 £3000/£1500 (50%)0 -
Hey Radish
Im right here!
not moved just been hectic was going to update over the weekend and never quite got around to it, went xmas shopping instead *ahem* not very MSE but was much fun!!
On MSE notes have done well this payday with some little extras plus a few bits n bobs earned through music magpie, cashback and amazon sales
Sale still going through but hoping to complete within next couple of weeks ...
then need to find a decentish savings account to store the loot! :rotfl: not sure one exists tho!...
On the xmas weight loss challenge fitted into a pair of jeans and a pair of size 12 trousers! hurrah! still a way to go but have decided will not be paying for the honour of a slimming club, just gonna try and wing it meself! .... inspirations/chearleaders pls! after nearly doing myself an injury jumping around doing exercise the other day I need to also up the ante on my fitness it seems!
All xmas pressies (including secret santa) bought now so should be no more outlays for that!
Did a decent shop with some money off vouchers the other day so hoping we can stretch our stores up till xmas ... dont see any reason why not so am back on the freezer/storecupboard challenge!
Only 19 more days at work till xmas (20 if you count the fact I need to work one of the weekends!)0 -
Evening!!
Been adding up moneysaving to see what Ive managed lately!!
£14.65 amazon
£7.30 tcb
£8 MS
£22 expenses claimed
£5 halifax reward
£14 off vouchers for shopping
£15 off voucher for shopping picked up today food shop coming in at about £70 ish for this month and being disciplined by avoiding the shops today!!
All xmas pressies (plus some extras!) bought , not sure in total how much Ive spent but got some bargains I think! have set up £20 p/m dd for next year (plus bday presents) so will see how well I manage on that! Am getting in the xmas spirit now, especially with all the xmas songs which seem to be on the radio ..
Looking forward to making some resolutions as well - am thinking some of it needs to be fitness/wt related as not doing brilliantly on that front and xmas round the corner doesnt bode well!!0 -
Evenin all!
Brrrrr its bloomin freezing outside isnt it??!!!
I am snuggled up with a cuppa watching kirsties homemade xmas (though that will likely be switched off in horror once mrtyo gets in in a minute! :rotfl:)
V tired as have worked an almost 7 day week and had a couple of evening do's as well , hectic week next week but then only a few more days till some time off at xmas! am finding the long dark cold days play havoc with feeling motivated to do very much so usually hibernate over xmas and am feeling refreshed come new year!
Bless me MFWs for I have sinned and am sitting eating cheese footballs which I bought earlier from mrt's along with those little cheese circles you eat with sticks (someone will know what I mean!) I shopped when cold/hungry and not sure what I wanted to eat so both were fairly extortionate for what they were (£3 for the cheese footballs and not at all as nice as I remembered them being!)
Still- to redeem myself I also got some whoopsied kievs for 80p and some organic chicken for £1.30 both in freezer now!
Also sold a couple of books on amazon in the last week!
Flat sale almost through exchange contracts monday just need completion date which I hope will be asap
moneywise, slightly lost track of what I owe where and there will be a few bigger bills to pay off when sale goes through (offset by no motgage payment that month!)
looking forward to being able to start a new MF /Saving for a house diary soon to bore you all for yet another year with all my ramblings! :rotfl:0 -
Mornin all!
Brrrr its chilly outside! sure we had abit of snow on the roof this morning too! (not enough to have settled tho!)
My dairy seems to have fallen into the abyss and I am not far behind, have not been keeping up with much moneysaving lately- I think the savings have been outweighed by a fair few bought lunches, takeaways and coffees out! oops!!
Still.....almost a new year (and perhaps a new diary time???) and all seems to be going well on my plan to start 2012 MF (relatively speaking anyway!!)
My big push for next year is gonna be food shopping (though I know I say that in every update I ever write!) our cupboards and freezer are now VERY well stocked so am gonna try to get down spends as much as is reasonable and be creative with what we have in , I do find it much harder to be motivated in the winter months so have slackened a bit on wasting food/ wanting what I have defrosted for dinner etc..!
expensivish week in the run up to xmas with a few meals out and other bits n bobs but really looking forward to some time off too! early payday so shall update mortgage/savings goals accordingly once I have been paid!(and maybe do a MF SOA :rotfl:)

Hi TYO, well I am joining you on that food challenge, after I have filled my empty freezer at Waitrose after Christmas. I will be living on one place from the spring so with a bit of luck that will help. Well done on the weight loss my next challenge is to get to size 16. I am down to an 18 from a 24 so it is going OKish. Good luck on the flat sale.0

Morning all!
I thought Id just pop in and let my adoring public know I am officially MF!!!!! :j:beer::j:beer::j:beer:
House sale completed this week - hurrah!!
I may add a disclaimer that i have no house (well I have the one we live in) so not technically "MF" but at least one part of it is sorted now!!
Next big plan for 2012 is to crack on with the savings.
All my pots (car/xmas/holidays) are filled for next year already so I just need to save save save as much as poss for when we buy somewhere!!
In true MSE style I have concocted from my cupboards/fridge this morning:
10 mince pies
20 cupcakes
5 jam tarts
15 rice krispie cakes
and a partridge in a pear tree ....
(ok not actually the last one!)
Will post updated SOA when Ive had a think! :rotfl:
Oh and Happy Christmas to all0 -
