    whooooooooo,

Sorry, but the baby has been ill and back in hospital but is a little better now, so I've just been trying to catch up with comps disscusion over the last few days.... And I am completely confuddled now.

I am sorry, and don't want to upset anyone, but I think a gentle reminder that there are sticky's if people want to click their way over to check for any ongoing comps that may interest them is enough. I appreciate that people are trying to help, but I find the double posting really confusing, and also a really lazy way of comping, that is asking a lot of thread starters. I am open to new ideas, as I have started entering via Regs after being a Main Board Comper only for years,

At the very least, as I think Reg Boards have bent over backwards to accommodate us Main Board Compers - I would appreciate it if a comp is deliberately double posted onto main, that it mentions in the title - REG BOARD COMP - then people who use both boards don't need to open the threads, iyswim.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

tbh, I am actually getting really fed up of all this discussion, and regs comps versus main comps feeling. While I don't want to offend anyone, this is what I am starting to feel.

The boards may have needed a few tweaks previously, but this is getting ridiculous now :( I know that I will have missed out on lots of comps over the years, but that was my choice. The same as its my choice not to use the postal thread, or enter blog comps.

If people don't want to make the effort to use links and stickies in Regs that have worked for years, then they should accept that they may miss some comps.

The general feeling and advice that has always come over from the comps forum, as been only to enter comps that interest you. Now its starting to feel that people want to enter absolutely every comp under the sun, but without it taking them any effort or work to do so. Its making the comps forum a much less pleasant place to be and use.

Basically I get the impression - Put the Comps all out on a plate in front of us - OR ELSE..........

and I really don't like that impression and have no idea what to do to get over that :(

I know and that is why I was trying to give something back in return ;)

The re-directs to the weekly ongoing comps are actually complementing the regs board by directing more visitors there to enter comps that many people on the main board would otherwise not enter and in doing so the OP's in regs and the weekly answer providers are also getting the thanks that they deserve

as I said in my previous post maybe a tag could also be added to the title (R) so that you would know from the main page that the comps are re-directs to the regs board and you could then choose to ignore them if so desired

Thanks for that Sassy - it does give me some encouragement to fight on !! I will assume that an MSE'r would have been an onlne entry. I just wonder how they pick the winners from differing entry methods.

I won an Flip cam-corded from a "This Morning" competition by entering on-line
  • Thanks Captain Sensible, I often wonder this too. I enter postcard competitions, such as the Sunday Express, where you also have text options and wondered if they are biased towards the text entries which cost more than a stamp!

After their troubles a while ago (such as selecting winners before lines had closed etc.) I think the ITV comps are probably the fairest around. Also, if you think about it, comp promoters shouldn't really care who wins the comp. All the publicity and goodwill comes from thousands of people entering their competition, not from one lucky winner - which is why most companies don't mind MSE's comping forum which just gives them further publicity.
