there really wasn't any need to be quite so snotty amilucky, it wasn't a negative comment I was making merely a different suggestion to the one you had used. I actually use the sticky threads in regs as well as the main board but I personally think that a duplicate post is a duplicate post but then who am I to argue. Wont botther suggesting anything in future and jusat let everybody get on with it no matter what.

    Dear Senior members,

I have seen that some of the competition are posted by specific senior members only - for example ITV, Pick Me Up magazine competitions, etc. Can someone please guide me to the post where I can see who is responsible for what competition websites. This would certainly avoid duplication and help me resource myself to finding new unique competitions for my fellow members over here :).

    Many Thanks

Oh well if the general concensus is that the new links are causing unrest on the boards then I will not post them any-more if anyone else would like to post them then that's fine by me :)

I thought we where moving forward but we now appear to be moving backwards again with recent post's opening up old wounds that where beginning to heal :(

I myself do not use the Regulars board, or stickies or even the new links that I have posted up so it doesn't matter to me one iota whether they are posted or not, I was just trying to be helpful by trying to make a compromise that I thought would be acceptable to both boards

I don't even need to post the answers to the ongoing weekly comps on the regulars board in fact I don't even need to post any comps at all or help anyone when they ask for help

I do it because I believe in good Karma and what goes around comes around, for me there is no us and them only just us compers

maybe I should just enter comps and become a lurker and just let you all argue among yourselves

magazine competitions tend to involve buying the magazines. there are members who buy these every week/month etc so they can post the comps for us all. its polite to not post them unless asked. list of who posts these can be found in the first few posts int he postal thread, and also in the regularly updated puzzler and tab threads.

itv game show comps are posted by comping cat who watches them so she can post every day. its easier to leave them to her as she is usually on the ball and gets them up promptly and arranges for someone else to cover when necessary, especially as search often doesnt pick up newly posted comps immediately. everyone racing to post them just results in more merges for the bgs to do.

anything else is posted by whomever finds it (there is a post in the sticky called posts by mse team and bgs please read) by mse andrea explaining the policy about this. there are some sites that are usually posted by the same person, and many of us just wait for them to post them rather than try and be quickest.

theres also a lot of useful info and frequently asked questions answered in the stick comping guide and faq :)

    hth

ill pm a bg to get this thread merged into the comps discussion thread.

ps hope you dont mind a non "senior member" answering since i dont find enough comps to post to meet the criteria for that status

Amilucky, I appreciate you posting comps and answers, the same as I do with all the members who help make the comps forum so active.

I was under the impression from reading this thread, that you made a suggestion and trialled just a few threads as a result. So you wanted comments and input, whether they agreed with your idea or not. You can't make a suggestion and then get upset when it doesn't automatically meet with 100% approval.

There has to be a line drawn somewhere, or we may as well just lose the Regs board. It was originally intended to keep the main board flowing, yet if every single thread from there is double posted, even if its just a link to main, then there is no need for the board :(

I also firmly believe that in fact, us compers are more likely to miss comps with them all drowning on the Main board then if we used the Regs section properly.
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

im with you on that one, but the people who cant/.wont/dont have time to use the regs board or check ongoing threads want all the comps posted individually. this suggestion was a way of letting them have that without the actual comp itself being duplicated. an attempt at trying to keep everyone happy......which is now upsetting other people like beff said earlier.

amilucky please dont stop trying to be helpful or joining in on discussions.

Nobody owns the right to post any comps salboy, but it is generally agreed that the magazine comps, where obviously an outlay is required, are left to a few people who have agreed amongst themselves that they will purchase the magazines every week. Otherwise they would spend time and money without reason. The TV comps are also covered by a couple of people who are around every day and have undertaken to watch the shows on our behalf.
