Is it really rude not clicking "Thanks" all the time? :(

I am very thankful to everybody that makes all the effort to post these competitions up, do the links, get the answers etc. - and I do try and click thanks whenever I remember, but I enter so many competitions (I'm crazy for all the DVD competitions!) I quite often click the link and close the thread tab I had open before remembering to click thanks!

But everybody has all of my appreciation and love for all of their hard work, for sure <3
I think for the longer standing members clicking thanks is just a natural part of entering as that was the tracking method up until late last year.I click thanks & enter.

I'm not sure what to do with the Ben and Jerrys one yet, I'll take a look at it, I'll also PM Gilla to let her know that I've added the Hallmark one onto the end of the dailies thread just so people know it's on a Friday only.

Does this look ok for the setup on the thread? I wasn't sure how to title the section, but I tried to keep it fairly simple.

I was going to put it right at the bottom after all the other listed comps.

One Day Entry Only - But Regularly Occuring

    Monday

Ongoing - Daily Mail (Various handbags) (Search the forum on Mondays for 'dmail' to find that weeks post)

    Friday

Ongoing - Hallmark (Various prizes, Hourly Questions) (Also in Weeklies, but entry is on Fridays only)

Edited to add: Will actually put a note in bold next to the Hallmark one to mention it's in weeklies also but entry is only on a Friday. (Added above)

Hi,great ideas there.I'd maybe search with the email address as that will narrow it down.

Not sure you'd finished. Sorry for thinking of the wrong comp :o. Re the bit in red...IMHO the main advantages I can see if more stuff went on as a regular (on main if that's what the majority want) is
    1) then the BGs would have less to move to GO
    2) the link in regulars would not need to be changed each day/week/month so PPD/Gilla/BHG would all have easier lives.
Wheras I don't think that would be too inconvenient for everyone else because they'd see it when it was bumped?

Actually, a lot of people wouldn't - the 'new topic view' button is used by many of those who enter comps as they're posted, mainly as a way of avoiding bumped threads and only seeing newly posted ones. I enter comps as they're listed, using that button, and have anywhere from 8-13 pages of new comps a day to go through. If I didn't use the button, and had all the old bumped threads to look at to see if there were any with new comps on - as you're suggesting - there would be more pages, and it would take far far longer, and make the new topic button useless.

    Hi,

The reason I didn't put the full email address was because I wasn't sure if putting the email would allow people to enter without looking for the post first? (One they've entered a few times and realised you don't have to do anything other than send contact details to the same address each week?)

I wanted to encourage people to search for the post first so they can thank it and click on enter so they don't duplicate their entries and also because if it's not on for certain weeks for any reason then at least they'd find out before they sent their entry?

You find the comp you want to enter then copy and paste the tweet OR, go to the @comp provider profile page and retweet their tweet.

Don't just retweet someone elses as that doesn't enter you & might disqualify the original tweeter.
If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.
