PCL - I was trying to stay away from this now but you've just forced me to join back in.

Firstly, please don't dictate to people that they HAVE to try it your way before they're allowed an opinion, have YOU tried it their way? (incidently I used to use the daily thread all the time then found it far more efficient to just go through the main board and add them to my own spreadsheet, my choice!)

We've all tried it "their way". That's how the board has been working for the majority of comps for the 18 months I've been here. And regardless of what the majority seem to think EVERYTHING WAS NOT PERFECT BEFORE! (See HERE for why)
It's just the people that were unhappy before discussed it on the discussion board without it getting so heated (most of the time ;))

Lastly, and why I replied, please leave the Daily Mail bag comp right where it is! If that is tucked away in Regs it doesnt matter how many links there are to it, if you don't do your weeklies on a Monday you WILL miss it! I don't do weeklies full stop, but that's my choice, but I don't consider this is a weekly, it's a separate competition, with a separate prize each week and should be on the main board as a one off comp.

Looking at the way the discussion is going this probably won't be how things work but just a question: if it was added as a regular on the main board (eg "E: 31/12 Daily Mail Wish List (WEEKLY)" and bumped with the new prizes each week wouldn't you see it when it was bumped?

It was working pretty well for me and those I associate with for the two and a half years I've been here. But you're right, nothing is perfect.

It's not the Wish List I refer to, but the Designer Bag Comp that is only open on a Monday, but I won't be pedantic. Yes I would see it if it was bumped if it was on the Main board, but I really fail to see the advantage of having it in an ongoing thread as compared to being posted by Weeowen, previously Krailton, on a weekly basis on a Monday morning, I know it isn't a chore to them to pop it on. The worst thing of all that could happen to it, is what I was answering above, the suggestion that it goes in the Regular board and listed as a Weekly. That wouldn't work unless you always did weeklies on a Monday.

Silly thing requires some further text so I can submit reply :D
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

    Thanks for replying :)
Not sure you'd finished. Sorry for thinking of the wrong comp :o. Re the bit in red...IMHO the main advantages I can see if more stuff went on as a regular (on main if that's what the majority want) is
    1) then the BGs would have less to move to GO
    2) the link in regulars would not need to be changed each day/week/month so PPD/Gilla/BHG would all have easier lives.
Wheras I don't think that would be too inconvenient for everyone else because they'd see it when it was bumped?

If it was on Main it's a compromise I could live with (grudgingly :rotfl: j/k) :D

Hi, sorry to ask this in the middle of the regulars discussion. I have recently started doing Facebook comps but not sure how people track them. I am relying on my memory when I am entering the main board comps hoping that I haven't already done the Facebook comp. Does anybody track this, if so how? Thanks and sorry for interupting the discussion.:)

I click "Like" on the actual comp post ;)

It's the Daily Mail bag competition, it's open on a Monday only, if you search for 'dmail' (part of the email address) it should come up so you can see which one people are on about :D
