I don't have time to enter the dailies or weeklies!

    :j

That's such a shame when you do such a good job of keeping the threads updated for us all! :(

If you ever feel like it's getting too much to do either/both of them then do shout, I'd be only too happy to help! I don't want you to think that you're stuck with them if you don't want to be!

Thank you for all your hard work with both threads! :T :T

(Just as a quickie while you're in here, do you think it would be possible/a good idea to have a section at the bottom of the dailies (or maybe a whole new thread?) for competitions that you can enter once and go into all further draws? I think a lot of people miss out on these types of competitions until near the end the way they are currently?)

I think this is where we need clarification of what is 'regular' - is it to do with whether you can enter every day/week/month or how often it is drawn? To me it's how often you can enter so if it's only enter once I'm not sure where or how it should be posted? Don't think there are too many of these luckily...
    2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
    2013: £134.96

Did anyone enter a competition with pointshop.co.uk. (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2896952) I did and they took money out of my credit card. I had agreed to £1.00 being taken to become a VIP but when I checked I saw £45.00 had also been deducted. I have tried to email them but there is no proper email address only one if you have a query about orders (if you use the points to buy stuff) -they are ignoring me. I have tried to contact them on face book but nothing works. Does anyone know how else I can contact them as I am at my wits end. Thanks

I agree that strictly speaking, it's not 'regular' in the current definition as you only enter once, but it's not quite the same as the rest of the ones on the main board either, as when entering by end date, it tends not to be discovered until right at the end, which means a lot of people missing out on the majority of the draws.

I do think they should still be posted on the main board though, with either a link in a section in the dailies sticky (because at least then when you enter by end date you'd be aware of them far earlier than currently) or they could have a sticky of their own, which could maybe be on the main board as we've lost about half of the stickies that used to be there with the sticky merge?

There are another set of competitions that don't really belong on the main board or on the regular board too, which are ones where they are posted on the main board and they have multiple (but not regular) draws and multiple ending dates but only the last ending date is in the title. The same problem occurs with these, missing all but the last one.

For me, personally, this is where most of the anomalies are at the moment, and probably the area that most needs attention in the short term so that it works for everyone.

I'd happily put them at the bottom of the dailies thread, but they'd still be missed by those who don't venture into the regulars.

If you notice any, please send them (with a little explanation for me) and I'll put them on.

    Thank you! :T

When I'm working the boards in thread start time format I'll keep my eye out for them and let you know of any I come across :D (though I don't open every thread so I might still miss some!)

My New Years Resolution was to try and keep up with the boards (I'm doing a day behind though, so today I'll do yesterdays, but it's better than nothing, will see how long I last! :rotfl:)

It's difficult to know what to do, as like you say, people that don't use regulars but work by end date still miss out, but I suppose at least this way there's the opportunity for people to check in the regulars if they want, and if they don't want to then there's not a lot else anyone can do to help.

You don't seem to be the first person with this problem

You should certainly contact your credit card company.

Found a response to that lady

    Hiya

Found this response on Yahoo answers which indicated that it's not trustworthy, but it doesn't mean that you can't get your money back.
In terms of claiming your cash, I checked on their customer service section and apparently the waiting time for a response is 378 hours!
So you might be better off sending a letter, or writing an email to the company who run pointshop - CM Network A/S. They are based in Denmark, so presumably operate under Danish Law.
You might be able to get some userful advice from www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ and tips on how to avoid being ripped off online at www.getsafeonline.org
    Good luck!

I don't know if I am stating the obvious, but when you subscribe to a thread there is an option to have NO email notification.
I have set up folders in Subscriptions for daily, weekly monthly threads & comps I couldn't do. and no email notification. Its easy then in a morning to go through the daily ones. Also, when you go into User CP, you will see that there is a small arrow next to the name of the last postere - right click on that, and you can open the comp at the last post in either a new tab, or a new window.
Apologies to anyone who already knows this, but it took me ages to find out - a bit slow on the uptake, and too busy comping to work stuff out.
I also use the right mouse click to sit on the MSE new topic page, and open the comps in a new tab. Ones with multiple answer such as full house I use open new window - this way I can have 2 windows open side by side so I can copy the answers quickly from one to the other.
I hope this helps a few people - will you let me know if I am speaking the already converted or not. When I am reading through a lot of the threads I sort of pick up that a lot of people are struggling a bit.

I've just seen this in the arms:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2965476

the OP is wanting 120 questionnaires completed and there is a £20 Starbucks Card as a prize. Must be over 30.

Do others think it should be moved to the comp board

You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

I entered, but didn't give any card details? (I don't remember being asked to at all, but if I had been asked, I wouldn't have entered (no credit card), but I did enter, so I don't know what's happened there?)

I'm not sure who you would need to contact, maybe your credit card company? Would Consumer Direct or something like that be able to help? I'm really not sure.

Sorry I've not been much help, but it's so bad that they've taken money from you without permission :(, and I really hope you manage to get it sorted out soon without too much hassle.

Hopefully someone will come along shortly with more of an idea about what you should do!

    Good luck!

Edit: What an idiot! :o:o It's taken me all this time to notice lilias's post above suggesting the same thing!!! :o Doh! So sorry!! (I only noticed when I saw knitnuts further post!)
