That's part of the reason I don't like subscribing to threads.

Imagine, if you subscribed to some of them there's posts pretty much all the time, you'd be forever clearing your inbox and with nearly 18,000 :eek: (don't ask!, Seriously how quick do they build up!!!! EEK!) unread emails, that's not something I'd want to do! :rotfl:

I subscribe, but ticked no emails, so I just keep an eye on my user cp for bumped threads popping up on there, iyswim.

Before the Enter button I used to thank and subscribe to everything with no email notification just so it had a tick by so I knew I didn't need to open it! (Slow broadband so didn't want to waste time opening when I didn't need to!) :rotfl:

The only problem with doing the subscription thing without emails is that if you've got a sieve for a brain, like me, you forget to check anyway!

Whilst I'm for things moving over to the Regulars if that's what's decided, I only skim through the first page of ones that have been updated with posts that day (to check for any new ones) but anything that was posted a while ago and then moved over (with no new posts on the end when it was moved) would drop into the mire and be a few pages back! I think that's what happened with the ITV Aviva one!

I am a saddo and will make my User cp page my home page untill I get used to checking it reg.... Have the comps forum bookmarked so wiil just jump there if nought pops up.

To be honest, I find the Regulars thread confusing and when comps are all posted together I just get lost so now I only enter what is on the Comps board (so miss dailies, weeklies etc. unless they get posted on the main board and I happen to spot them before they've moved )

Also, as we only get an Enter button for the 1st post on the thread, we'd be back to using the Thanks button to keep track of which particular ones we've entered if they're all on the same post.
Now we've got the Enter button, I use the Thanks button even if I'm not entering

And, as with everyone else, many many thanks to hjb123 for all the effort posting the comps!

That's a great idea! :T I might have to think about doing that!

I'm a total perfectionist with organisation and have everything bookmarked, I check the first posts of the dailies thread each day and the weeklies thread a few times a week to see what's new since the last time, I have all the dailies and weeklies that I want to enter on my spreadsheet (listed by firstly end date and then A-Z, I have some like Sugarscape down as Ongoing instead of with an end date, so I can just update the link everytime the thread changes, and I've got them in 2 sections, ones with a draw everytime and others where you enter for extra entries into one draw and I can indicate that I've entered them by changing the colour of the box incase I need to go back to ones later in the day or week that didn't work earlier on, otherwise I'd forget ) and I've got them all bookmarked, straight to the website, and then the links to the threads in my spreadsheet as hyperlinks so I can check and thank them all each day!

So in a way, it does work (for me) at the moment with those ones being just the one updated thread, with the way I work by having the link to the thread, the problem I tend to have is finding the regulars in the first place if they're not sent to Gilla and PPD be added to the first posts on the regulars threads.

If one good thing could come out of the discussions about the regulars, then it's probably that it's making more people aware of what to do if they post or they find one that's a regular entry!

No one's perfect and it's so easy to forget to link it over (I've forgotten myself before! ) but if more of us know what to do, then that's more people to send it over when they post it or come across it and hopefully it will be done every time even if one of us forgets.

i know, have loads of them every day
i subscribed in the reg threads ones because i can't realy find my
way round in there so subscribe to such as chelseagirls dailies, laks updating the glamour ones, groovytiggers sugar to name a few (but some of them are on the main board) cause if i didn't get the emails for them wouldn't have time to keep hunting through them regs
like josie said it's a mixture of all different ones & takes me ages to try to look through for new ones posted
when we had this discussion before christmas in here said i'd try to get round the regs but tbh i still don't get them even though i've been trying
