are we still going to have a vote/poll as was said before christmas about the regs ?

    Doesn't look like it :(.
Mind you, we were also told no changes would happen before January and so many comps were then banished to the bowels of Regulars :(.
Huge shame when the majority opinion seems to be in opposition and so many comps are being missed. A good example would be this comp for a Sony PSP here. It's been on the board for nearly 3 weeks, but only attracted less than 40 "Thanks" due to it being hidden. Quite shocking for a prize of such high appeal .
I know when I stopped posting monthlies after getting hacked off with them all being moved I had PMs asking me to please post them as folk were missing out. When I did, I had loads of "Thanks" PMs, but they were then moved again!

Guess this post may ruffle some feathers and it's not intended as a personal attack on anyone, in any way. I'm just saddened to note that the opinions and wishes of the majority seem to be ignored. This has always been a fab forum for sharing in the comps and interacting, and I think it's a real shame folk are drifting away, (Just been reading back) and being discouraged from posting...
Worse things will have happened in the world today...

I'm in agreement with you GrannyBiker. I think at least the monthly comps should be put on the main board. There are too many of them on that list to go through now, so you tend to get bogged down in them.
I do appreciate all the hard work that goes into sorting them, but its maybe now unnecessary

well, i don't keep spreadsheets & all the stuff a lot of the
others talk about :o as for having the time to check through dailies, weeklies, etc that's why i started to subscribe to the ones
as soon as they were posted on main board before they got moved to the regs, then i started to try to go through the regs & subscribed to some i'd missed, but it's easy to miss them if they're not posted on the main board & go straight in the regs (if you get what i mean) i've missed out on a lot of your postings you used to put on main board & a lot of others that used to be always posted on main, maybe that's my fault :o but when i'm doing the puzzles/posting for the mags it's hard to keep track on the postings so miss loads :o
then, if i'm lucky to catch some before they get moved to dailies/weeklys but i've not subscribed to them it takes ages to find them in the regs :(
maybe i'm doing something wrong :o

maybe it's about time the vote/poll should be done ?
as this subject keeps coming up

If there's a poll, do you think it should be a private poll? (If that's possible?)

So that everyone is honest and no one fears any backlash for picking a different option?

we should respect everyone's opinion, wether we agree/disagree,
this forum is for everyone & each individual is entitled to thier own
opinion, i certainly wouldn't fall out/treat anyone different just because they had a different opinion to me & don't think/hope anyone else would,
we had a poll on the postals a while back to do with the limit on the £1.50 postings & a lot disagreed with them being posted & no-one had any backlash/bad feeling about it

Oh I do completely agree with you, it's just seeing some of the things that go on around here sometimes, sniping and things, it might be an idea to make sure it can't happen in the first place?

Slightly different but I've seen people be snappy at people on 'I won' for not having clicked thanks at the time they entered, which may just be an oversight on their part, or maybe it didn't register as sometimes it can be a bit 'sticky', but the snapping still happens.

It's some of the things like that which made me think about it really, though like you, I would hope that it's not needed, I just see it as kind of an inevitability where differing opinions are concerned that it will get a bit heated at some point, but I'd love to be proved wrong! :D

well, suppose you get that on all forums & in rl,
everyone likes to have thier say on a subject,
not sure how they do the polls on here but if they have one
maybe just the poll so's it's locked & no-one can reply to it ?
i don't know, but i do think something should be done just to
try to sort it out :)
