Sorry HJ - I prefer the 'old version' too - I work using new topic button so would miss these...and yes I know I can subscribe or bookmark them (like I have to with the puzzler & tab thread)
tbh it is pushing me off the forum, using all my personal bookmarks instead of getting involved here - all the interaction is gone
These days I just comp and go (missing loads which have been moved around and into the great unknown of regs), mainly to avoid all the sniping.
Such a shame as this used to be a great forum and easy to use & contribute to.Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

if you subscribe to the thread twotimes
you'll get instant emails as soon as the new ones are posted
But don't you also get emails everytime anyone 'bumps' the thread to say 'thanks', or 'it's not working'?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

If you Google GDMR Ltd you will come up with quite a few property management companies. If you right mouse click on the email before you open it, then click on properties, you can probably gleen a bit more, then google what you find. Sounds like Timeshare to me.0

Hi HJ, I much prefer the "older" way too. And thanks for your continual posting of these ones0

Continuing my thoughts on competitions being posted as one thread...December's ITV Aviva competition (now as one thread in regulars) received 66 thanks. Both October's and November's (posted separately on the main board) received nearly 600 thanks each.
I don't blame the OP at all (and am extremely grateful for their posting) as it should probably be posted like that in the regulars given the current "rules" of the forum but I think it's clear from the difference in numbers that a fair few people, including myself, missed December's competition.
I definitely need to try and get a bit more organised trying to keep up with everything!0 -

I missed it too.
I was (and still am, if we can find a workable way for everyone) one of the ones that mentioned wanting to use the regulars board more often.
I've mentioned it before, but I'll mention it again incase people missed it before, my personal preference was to have each competition posted seperately, meaning one post a day/week/month/per randomly ending draw (ones where theres more than one draw and they don't end regularly) as that way no one should miss anything that's posted regardless of way of entering. (And also that way if people do miss a day/week/month then it would be because they would have missed entering that one anyway due to not being around for said day/week/month). And for posts to be GO'ed the day after they end instead of early on the day they end so that the (00.01) end dates aren't needed anymore and that way comps are on the main board until you can't enter them anymore.
The only problems I could forsee are it would cause more work for posters (but I'm sure we would all chip in and take on sites so it's not the same people doing all the sites) (and for BG's moving to GO) although for posters it's maybe not too bad if things can just be copy and pasted from thread to thread so only answers need to be changed etc. (I'm still intrigued as to how things are GO'ed, whether it's like the subscriptions work for us as non BG's, so that a whole page can be selected and GO'ed at a time? Which if it was the case, it probably (hopefully) wouldn't make it too much more difficult if there were more posts?)
By this I mean that anything that has a daily/weekly/monthly draw (not a one entry but drawn regularly type comp) would be posted each day regardless if the link/answer stay the same, the only things that would either need to be either in the regulars forum and/or linked to in the dailies/weekies/monthlies threads are ones where you can enter either once a day/week/month/as much as you like and there's one draw at the end, and a section for ones which you enter once and are in all the draws. (Edited to add: Maybe a mention of the other dailies could made, by site name only (no link, as it would obviously keep changing each time and be too time consuming to change) so that people know which ones will have a new post everyday and they can search by site name if they so wished?)
Obviously there are other ideas, but I've been racking my brain for ideas since all the talk of what could be done started and this is the one which makes the most sense to me for helping everyone out so no one misses anything. (But maybe it doesn't make as much sense to others?)
Edited to add: The reason I came to this conclusion was partly because people have mentioned before on comps like the Glamour dailies that they like it being bumped up each day (regardless of the link and answer being the same) because they could tell when they'd entered as they could press the thanks button, this would essentially work the same way, but it would be the thanks and enter button that you could tell you'd entered by.
I can see the flaws though, for posts like the Mullerlight etc where you wouldn't want to keep posting the same one everyday, and I'm not sure how that could be got around? Another suggestion I did make before was to have all the dailies in the regulars and everything else the other way? I don't know, it's confusing!0 -
Yup TT I totally missed that one.
Basically because reg's is a mishmash of daily/weekly/monthly - yeah the threads say what they are, but who has the time to go thru hundreds of posts (which are all green ticked when you first enter them) to see what has been updated.
whereas if they are on the main board you work thru and come across them eventually no matter what method you work in.
even if there was a monthly thread, daily thread, weekly thread it would be easier - maybe there is and I'm missing them tho'Jo x2007:£5181.09 2008: £6619.70 2009: £4284.49 2010: £5213.14 2011: £4980.62 2012: £3188.52

Thanks for mentioning this TT
I thought things weren't changing stright away. I guesss I really need to get my butt into gear and plough through the reg board asap. Just cleared and altered my subs threads and folder ready to save comps all in one threads in there. Eill try and bookmark as well.My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly
