    Changing topic slightly ;)

and I realise that I am probably posting in the wrong place (hope that I don't get told off!) :p:p

has anyone else been having trouble with there internet connection today?

my connection has been flaky all day and is getting worse as the night progresses with MSE struggling to connect with constant time-outs I don't think that it is an MSE problem as such but network problems elsewhere

I was wondering if anyone else has a problem who is not on the O2 network?

the strange thing is yesterday my connection was running blazingly fast but tonight it feels like I am connected via a 56K modem :(

Bizarrely my Virgin broadband completely stopped working in the early hours of this morning and was still down when I got up for work (it's back now obviously).
And the connection at work kept dropping off all day today too......

wonder if it's coincidence that BT infinity is being released and all of the sudden the net is starting to slow down for other providers who are using there exchanges via LLU (Local loop unbundling)

the same thing that has happened today seems to be happening quit often now :(

Glad it's not just me, (Tho' obviously sorry you're having problems too :)!)
OH hasn't been able to get online with ipod for a few days, tho' lappy's been fine.
Something else weird has been happening tonight too - when I go to "Add to favourites" (IE8) which plays a large part in managing my comping, nothing's happening....
It's only done this once before and it was fine again when I restarted my lappy, so hope this functions restored when I try again tomorrow.

ETA - Something just caused "Internet Explorer to stop working" and sure enough, can add to favourites again :). but confused!
Wins - Crisp 'n' Dry cookbook, Headlice treatment :rotfl:Mascara, Garden games, Model's own make-up, Thomas puzzles Mystery classic car prize...
:A Thanks to all posters :A

Mine seems to be coming back up to speed now and my ping is back to 20-21ms :D

someone posted on the Be Broadband forum
LINX has been bork-ed since before Christmas - its a problem with their Brocade switching infrastructure. For those that dont know, they operate 2 independent networks (to rule out specific hardware problems taking down the entire network), on different vendors hardware - Extreme and Brocade.

Most ISPs and tier 1's dropped the Brocade side back in December, however some ISPs chose not to.... these are the issues youve all been seeing
    What!

could anyone translate that please :rotfl:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Internet_Exchange

this talks about LINX in laymans terms and makes it easier to understand
