  • I thought I would just add a little reply, Things have not gone as well as hoped for one reason or another. This being said I have managed to add an extra £1500 into our savings so not all is bad. Finding it really hard going at the mo but hopefully things will pull them self together soon.

    Need to knuckle down and get back on it.

    Not added anything to the ISA for a while as I'm concentrating on repaying the money I borrowed from another account to replace my iPod (and will be spending on new glasses & eye test). Hopefully the ISA will get a boost when I get my next pay cheque though.
    ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)

    Also redbull what have you set up when you say you have started a pension? Think I'm going for long term savings for that and then try put the money into something that can get me an income. Might be property might not. I'm getting really into working out just now so going to put aside a bit of money for that, treat myself to some proper nutrition....see what happens next few weeks.
    Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

    You have to keep slogging on with it though, the degree might help you in the future. I've just taken a 10k pay cut to get my foot in the management door but hopefully my salary will be much higher in the long run. Right now I'm weeping into my pay slips however! :eek:
  • Hello :) first post on this thread.

    I've saved £7,000+ so far. Shame interest rates are so bad at the moment! :(

    I've got;
    £4,000 in a fixed bond for 2 years at 3.85%
    £2,000 in another fixed bond for 3 years at 4.12% (just opened it)
    £1,000+ in a current account,
    £330ish in a Internet savings account.
    Wish I had more :D but not bad for a 18 year old tbh.

    Going of to uni next month so saving will become very difficult! but will be earning £300 per month for a part-time job :) so I hope to save about £25 per month if I can that is.

    Hi All, I have now saved over £14,600! My ISA is now full for this year too. I have also added vantage onto my my account and will look to get to the max tiered interest rate before thinking about other savings products.

    My target was to get to £15,000 by the end of 2011 so i should be able to reach it by end of next month. I am going to move my target to £18,000. This will be quite a challenge but it will give me something to strive for.

    Im paying 9% each month on my wage so my pension is pretty big and will be for the next 30-40 years. Will probaly invest in property aswel, i see alot of people my age investing in new cars and then realising they loose so much money in the first year. So im sticking to my 5 year old car and am saving for a house/flat so i can get it asap.
