Dear All
Nice to be able to return to this interesting forum. I hope to hear of some more useful money saving tips by doing so (and as mentioned by the last poster, perhaps some valuable tips on earning more income too) and maybe I can impart a few pearls of wisdom myself in the process too!
Yours

Hi everyone
I'd like to join in the thread.
Currently saving money for several things - shortest term to longest term goals are:
Christmas (Dec, obv haha), Wedding & Honeymoon (April), Deposit for house (within next couple of years would be nice) and Pension!
My current savings are in my sig.
Well done to everyone, seems you're all doing really well and it's inspiring!
P.s. Question, I have Easy access and ISA savings account. Am I right in thinking that ISAs only pay out interest once at the end of the financial year? Meaning if I'm adding to my EA, I can get interest on the money there then transfer it to my ISA at end of year and get the interest there too?Elmoxx

Just to answer your question, the answer is No. Interest on accounts are calculated daily, they may only be paid annually but the amount of interest will be minute if you only have the money in the ISA for a few days!0 -
Cheers!
I was thinking it was a bit too good to be true haha. Gonna transfer money to my ISA straight away then!

Managed to add another £500 to my savings total. I'm hoping that Aug and Sept wages will be enough to hit 3k, maybe even a bit more. Leaves oct and Nov to cover the cost of christmas and new spectacles which I havebeen putting off for ages.
New year I willtry to save more each month, maybe aimfor 550 and see where that gets me.Emergency savings: 4600

Hi all and hello to the newbies. Great to see the habit spreading! I'm attempting to get back on the wagon after a few weeks without focus. Luckily I only had 2 days of unemployment as I found a temp job but now I'm being paid weekly. Does anyone have any tips for managing weekly finances? I should be fine with the amount but I seem to be eating through it very quickly without the usual lump sum going into my savings accounts!0

Im the same, im contracting so get paid weekly so you find the early weeks with rent/phone/gym being taken out you feel like your not saving but then last few weeks you'll have some savings.
I love getting paid weekly means im not waiting to save the cash!0
