got an interest payment on my account of £16 and some birthday money, and been sorting out the rest of my student loan and money from my mum and have just moved £1100 to savings, leaving me now with £8350 (but this is a bit wierd because I owe my mum money still and some of this is my spare student loan and my 0% overdraft which I am trying to sort of stooze...) but still pretty good!! I need to get an isa but at the moment I think this is the best place for it. It is in a lloyds incentie saver where I get 3.0% if I dont withdraw (hoping to just asv save save and then when I need it like to pay for something massive or find a better account, I will just empty it and leave - I'm getting about £16 in interest every month now which I personally think is pretty good?!

I have written about this somewhere else before but really my goal is to have as much in savings as I owe in student loans (Think thats going to be about £21,000 by the time I finish and the interest rate might jump up in September :( ) currently I have this £8k, and then ISAs for 07/08 (£3000) 08/09 (£3600) 09/10 (£3600) which is a bit too short really!! (£2,800 needed!!) so I'm not quite there but there is time, and I can get there!! I just dont know when!!
Current goals - need to look for an ISA for 2010 (not really been looking though yet)
pay mum back (currently owe her about £800 I think)
    save the other £2,800 needed
write lots of dooyoo reviews to gett up to cah out a cheque (I have a loooong way to go :( ) !!

Thanks driving soon! Every little helps hey!
It does feel a bit depressing that even though it will feel like I am doing well and have lots of savings, really I will just be at £0 because of the massive student loans! Ah well! Least the loans are free for now....
Written 2 more dooyoo reviews today and might do a few more (is anyone else on here on there?) wish I'd got in there on that election counting thing, it sounds well fun and the money would be good too! Maybe next time lol!

Does anyone else use the lloyds incentive saver? What do you think about it? I quite like it because it stops me from withdrawing but i dont like it because I would rather be able to keep all my money in there and just transfer back out when I need it (so earn more in interest over the months, especially becuase of the way I get my oney (termly).

I know how you feel, I have just over 20k and really proud, but I'm going to Uni in September and it just feels like I'm wasting my money in a way cause I know I'm going to finish with lots of debt and be in a worse position than I am now .. but I keep telling myself .. I'll have a degree and the experince! :o:D

Count Assistant also! but was ridiculously close seat. Just got home, started at 9pm so 12 hours, fee scale for a count assistant is £25.25 an hour so £300 up, straight into summer fund!

Such an adventure though. Had to recount three times, so many of us close to falling over at 7:30am when they said the dreaded words "total recount" of all 46,000 votes. :o

Email elections@nameoflocalauthorityhere.gov.uk, so haringey would be elections@haringey.gov.uk. probably best to do it near to when the next election date is confirmed!

    Hi all,

Seems everyone is moving forward. My savings have slowed down a bit as I've had some unavoidable expenses. However, got trips with work coming up and as they give us expenses and money for food/travel etc. it's always a good opportunity to save!

I'm on $4000 with my car insurance saved up for next year (due in June) and all bills for 2010-2011 covered too. This means I should be able to save more each fortnight as my outgoings will drop.

    Still on target!

    Good luck all!
