Hi all - Quick update to note that I've added (just) £100 from pay this month. Not great but have paid off my credit card in full (10 months @0% just ended) and wanted to save something as a gesture so that's the £100. Percentage of target saved remains the same at 92%. I'm going to find it tough to hit my target by Januray 1 although I have just applied to move both my ISA and cash savers to better rates so when the old accounts close I'll have some interest to add to the pot. Also new saver (Citibank @3.3%) is monthly so that will also give me a regular boost.Member of the 'How Much Can You Save' Forum.

Every now and again you need to spoil yourself, but I think moderation is the key. Life would be boring if saving became the only thing.0 -
Yes indeed!
Thats got to last me until Tuesday
It could be worse - my sister ran up to me this morning and begged me to send her 3p because the direct debit for her phone bill comes out on Monday and she was 3p short! And she has 3 weeks til payday...Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Me and my OH save £900 per month between us. We are saving to buy a bigger home, if we didnt already have a house we could obviously save a LOT more.Squish0

I'm feeling demotivated. For the last 4 months I have saved below my target of 40% of income. I've been managing between 35 and 39%. I can't seem to resist buying things.. I buy friends and family little presents to cheer them up, I buy clothes, I buy things for my boyfriend's house, I treat colleagues to lunch when they've had a bad day. It all builds up. If I could just stop myself with these unnecessary purchases I'd be fine.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Yep I've been feeling like this lately, buying Dominos, buying steak and stuff, and luxuries which I shouldn't be. However I seem to be happy now so I think I can cut down on these things.
Thing you just don't want is to get into habit!0 -
I think the habit's well and truly here. I got a payrise last april, and the plan was to not spend any more than usual, the difference would be saved. But I haven't had a good month since. It was a good payrise, so I think psychologically, having more money has made me spend more, whatever my intentions. And worst of all (lol) it's payrise time again in October, and I have been told the bosses are extremely happy with me, so I'm likely to get another... This time I will actually have to make sure I don't spend it!Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012
