I feel my posts are boring compared to everyone elses at the moment.
I've had to take some more money out of my savings to pay for the bond on the house i'm about to rent (move is going to hit my pocket! :() but hopefully i'll be able to keep saving.

I felt much the same when I had to take around £550 out of my savings last month to cover some unexpected outgoings. It's good that you have the savings in place though or you wouldn't be able to cover the bond. That's the way I try to look at things anyway so that I feel less disappointed about having to dip into my savings from time to time.

    £273.80.

Interest from my Halifax regular saver! :D I've now filled up my ISA for this year :)

I was aware of some daily limit on Halifax accounts, for faster payments.. anyone know what it is? I think I've found it, though. I've sent £4000 out, and have £2273.80 remaining to put in my highest paying account, but it's not allowing me to do any more faster payments.

Finally opened a regular saver...looking forward to setting up a standing order to it. Next to find a better general savings account ... once I've enjoyed the sun!

    Hi All

Id like to join if that is at all possible.

Im 24 , rent a council flat at present but would love to get into my own house. I only work part time at the minute though (11 hours a week) but hoping to increase hours or find a new job with more hours. Have no family around me to help out with young son who is 5 but in full time school now so the job hunting is in full flow.

in the area we live and want to stay a lot of houses are ex council houses so range easily from between £80 - £95K so I figure I'd need about £8,000 - £9,000 deposit so im hoping to make a start on saving for this.
    Time to find me again

Look at it on the bright side, at least we're the lucky ones who have managed to save, or are at least thinking about it. According to SkyMoney, more than a quarter of us is failing to do so! Arrrrgggggghhhhhh! Im so skint!!!!

Spent way too much in london over the weekend! My C/C now has about £300 on and my A+L account is about £700 down from the max.

The recovery starts here: Opened my coin tin last nite, had £255 in there, due to collect £250 rent tomorrow and get paid £60 on friday, so hopefully should be back to normal within a month or so.

Also started transferring £11.54 (strange amount i admit) into a ybs i have, no branch near me and my passbook is stuffed at the bottom of my wardrobe somewhere, so wont go near the account so can let it build up.
