Well done, thats a big amount to save in a month:T

Thanks, it was a bit of a one-off though as I'd transferred £1k across to my current account but didn't need all of it in the end so about half of it has gone back to the ISA. My "real" monthly saving is more like £400 but I'm counting the other £400 as it's going into the savings again lol. Wish I could really save £800 every month!
ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)

    * Savings Update - April 2009 *

Looks like a good month for me to bank on which is what I could do with after having a few months with outgoings - this month is basically a free month for me despite spending £80 last weekend for a few drinks and a game of pool as well. Total amount saved this month £900.

    The Percentage Has Been Updated.
Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE

Right I have a message from Egg saying my ISA has been closed, and that it's now on its way to Halifax. So the account has been closed, and as yet nothing in my Halifax account. Bricking it. Is it 28 days from now I can expect my money to show up?

I'm in the same situation! Money has left Egg and had a message from Egg informing me, but still have £0 in Halifax - bit unnerving! It's also still showing as Enquiry Only. The money left Egg on Friday, so 4 days ago...

    Hi LucyTheDwarf,

Still in the race with me? :-) Well, this month I am up to 9,798 pounds which should not be reduced unless a pesky, unexpectant bill comes along!

Starting to grow my own vegetables eg. lettuces, to cut down on food costs.

    Regards

I'm still in the race, but doing badly. More surprise expenses (windscreen cracked, AGAIN) have taken their toll. It's payday tomorrow though, so I can really assess the damage... I certainly haven't hit 10K, which I was on target to hit at the end of march, before Christmas... Might get there by end of May, but it all depends. May will be expensive.

11 successes, 4 failures, and 1 day to go before I can spend again.

Pay day here too! Managed to put 36% of last month's pay into my ISA which I think means I'm now around halfway to my 10k goal!!! Still not hitting my savings target, though it's a whole new month tomorrow.

Payday for me too! I've been overpaid too, so I'll be a bit skinter next month (only £35 or so).

I bought a panini today. I'm bad. I mustn't spend on food. In April I spent as much on food as I did in Jan, Feb and Mar put together!!! Must. Get. Disciplined. With. Myself.

Don't know about my net worth yet, as my savings interest doesn't show until tomorrow, though it's dated today.

End of April and one third of the year gone!

After two slightly disappointing months, April's been a good one. I increased my savings by £1,380! And it would have been more except that the bloody car decided it wanted some attention – MOT, road tax, brake pads, oil, service...

Still, I'm happy with my progress – now 41% of my target. Hope everyone else's savings are growing too!

Focus 888, I have second job delivering pizzas, just a couple of nights a week, only took it on for a couple of months to help pay for a holiday! 8 months later Im still there!!!! Its an extra £400 a month so cant complain, All the tips I get paid i change into £1 coins then put them in my tin each week, some weeks i can put £30-£40 in, so it soon builds up! It stops me spending my loose change so definitly helps me!!!

Ok the money has turned up in my Halifax ISA complete with interest, yay!

So that's a relief, my money is no longer floating around in the banking ether. But, it says I now have £750.75 still to invest this tax year. So they have treated it as a subscription for this tax year, when I filled in a transfer form and sent that off... Going to see if it sorts itself out in the next few days and if not give them a ring.
