Alrite Guys I've found it awesome reading your comments and how motivated you all seem so I have decided to join you lot on your travels!
My current target for saving in 2009 is 10K which I know I can hit reasonably easily. My savings as yet are at 3,630.00 but will hit 4K by the end of the week!
- I received a letter from the dentist in January but thought I'd put it off just in case I need anything done which will affect my savings!! but I do have relatively good teeth anyway.

Mc, you should know that Valentine's fortnight is the worst time to find yourself a woman

Don't beat yourself up over having had to spend some of your savings! I used to get really fed up when I couldn't meet my self-imposed savings targets. I eventually realised that I had probably set them impossibly high, thereby increasing the chances of failure. Better still is to have an achieveable figure in mind to save each month, and then you can congratulate yourself when you surpass it!
I also think that if you are having to regularly take money back out of savings, then you are probably putting more away than you can afford. In all my workings out on paper, I always used to forget to account for any cash withdrawals I made – it's just not realistic to think that I won't use my debit card AT ALL in a month!
I'm 31 and have saved far, far less than many others on here who are years younger than me. Sure, I have "wasted" huge amounts of money over the years but my mantra is not to focus on what I could have saved, but to be proud of what I have achieved. Don't be so hard on yourself! If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -

Who says romance is dead?
Well, the girl I'm totally in love with was with her boyfriend who isn't me, and it turns out that the only person who may have had an interest in me was just messing me around! I have to hold on to something :rotfl:“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
