:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: You go, Gally, sounds like you're having a ball.
Train fares - there's a new website, train split, something like that? It searches automatically for the split tickets that Martin talks about.

Hi Gally,
Glad you are still enjoying Spain. May I ask a question, as you will probably know. What are the tax implications in terms of income coming from the UK if you become Spanish residents? Are you able to nominate a country where your income and tax are dealt with? Do you now have to "declare" everything in Spain if you become a resident?
You are approx. 5 years ahead of us, and I am interested in this after Brexit.
Thanks
Arkers x
Currently in that Scotland place - been visiting relatives and went to see MR GG's footie team who were playing nearby. Lovely few days but goodness, the gray skies and rain!!!!!!' Off to that England place today, hoping for better weather 👍. Going on a choo choo 🚂🚂🚂.

So, back home again and although lovely to see everyone I'm glad to be back. Downside is that someone has ramped the heat up while I've been away and it is flippin' roasting!!!!!! Currently holed up in bedroom, only room with air con, but have unpacked, sorted stuff out and put away, done admin and ran out of excuses! Need to go back to living room & also put oven on to roast some veg/make veggie canelloni/roast some chick peas - doing as much as possible in one go.
BTL sale has fallen through  - after almost four months they are still not ready to complete so it's going back on the market. Each month costs us around £200 in council tax and mortgage interest, plus we need to get the grass cut etc. so not impressed. As it's a repayment mortgage we're obviously paying capital off as well but that means we'll have more left over when we do finally sell. Unhappy GG
.
Lot of stuff to do over next few days:
- Speak to solicitor about (lack of a ) quote for drains work, plus a few questions on bills
- Speak to another solicitor re getting residency sorted
- Contact friends re plans for going out Fri night
- Meal plan (just made list of what I'm cooking, need to decide when I'm eating it)
- Tidy living room
- Wiifit
- Apartment - take some stuff up there before holidaymakers arrive
- Apartment - check new keys work
- Apartment - connect up DVD player
- Spanish
- Iron :eek::eek::eek:
- Empty freezer if possible - seal not working and want rid of it
- Coincidentally, find someone to replace seal on fridge freezer at apartment
- Research drawdown on one or both pensions
- Dig small bit of garden, now I have bought a spade :rotfl:
- Replant some stuff in garden from pots
- Replace dead plants in pots - SUCCULENTS ONLY as replacement plants I have decided - most others, especially hydrangeas, won't grow in pots, apart from hibiscus and I have quite a few of those
- Decide which one out of large hibiscus/small pomegranate/palm thing is going to be sacrificed.
- Find lost of excuses for computer work which can be done in the cool of the bedroom
- Leave the bedroom :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Morning Gally, maybe we could put our heads together and develop a 'cap temperature at 35 degrees' thingy - over that and I definitely wilt - not an attractive sight.
I've never grown succulents but I'm interested in doing that in Portugal. Will look forward to pics.
Sorry to read about the house falling through.
The sun is shining :T

Absolutely beautiful cacti (dk what its called), the flowers last only one day and start to bloom at night. Record was 22 on the two plants on one day :T. I thought they'd finished flowering for the summer but looks like another batch are getting ready :j.
Do you seriously plan what and WHEN you're eating?!.
Not always but when I meal plan I do write down in order when I expect to be making and eating dishes, that way I know whether I need to go out of my way to pick up an ingredient or just get it next time I'm passing.
So, dug over my small patch of earth. Unfortunately my neighbour I've not met before was coming over to say hello just as I uncovered around a dozen cockroaches . Safe to say it wasn't my finest hour :rotfl:.

Hi Gally, have finally finished ploughing through this diary from the beginning.... exhausted now! (Tilly, yours is still ongoing!). Absolutely inspiring story and it's great that you're now living the dream and showing us all it's really possible! Definitely agree with mentions of you writing a book (not sure about royalties though as your followers on here would all be getting it out of the library rather than paying for it!
Sorry to hear about the BTL falling through and  about the cockroaches! Cacti are beautiful though
Will be staying up to date from now on (can't cope with having to catch up with all the to-do/ta-da lists again, they're scary!)
Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
