Unfortunately we weren't so lucky, but it was mostly dry. Loved that Madrid place and we will return :T. In other exciting news:

    Nature Notes:
Two golden eagles flying close to train today :j:j:j:j:j.

I don't think they were as excited to see us as we were to see them :rotfl:.

  • Amazing. Sadly there was a bit on the radio saying that the last golden eagle in the Lake District seems to have disappeared.

Fab news on the eagles :) Ours seem to be hanging about, they were hunting low over Joyce's in-bye fields yesterday afternoon.

I'm very fond of Madrid, despite it being the destination for my first honeymoon (not the happiest holiday I've been on!!) - lovely city.

    "Blows cobwebs off" :o.

Been a busy few weeks with visitors and a trip away last week, also some friends who spend a few months at a time out here have arrived so we've been seeing them.

BTL we put up for sale sold in two days :T, hopefully will go through smoothly, that will mean we can clear the rest of the mortgages and not be dipping into savings every month. A bit difficult to arrange the sale from Spain - especially when the solicitors say two of the forms weren't included in what we sent back - I ticked everything off before putting it in the envelope and have double checked what we have left (we've thrown nothing away) and it's not here .

Trip away was wonderful - it included Cordoba which is beautiful and the Mezquita was fabulous - general consensus was it surpasses St Peter's :T.

Weather was a bit unsettled, unfortunately while we had visitors, but now into early summer mode and hotting up nicely/scarily depending on your viewpoint . Off down the beach later while Mr GG plays golf so I will probably look like :o later, or possibly  if he plays slowly :rotfl:.

    Nature Notes while on trip:
Storks nesting on telegraph poles :D.

    Spoonbill :D.

Great reed warbler - possibly the noisiest little bird in the world :rotfl:.

Em we may just have booked a three week holiday to that America place :o

  • Nice to hear from you and sympathies with the bureaucracy. We are starting to tear our hair out just getting some simple things done, it is a nightmare. Glad you sold the BTL so quickly. Another step on the path to a simpler life. X:beer:
