Well finally decided to catch up myself on your diary and the most striking bit is the last serious mention of anything financial is over 200 posts ago (with the odd exception of ebaying the proceeds of the house and a money shuffle) :money:

Can only imagine what new readers think - must be slightly baffled

You are certainly "selling the life" and it is a credit to you that you have created such a big virtual friendship base. :j

So I guess it is good to show the benefits of all your hard work and dedication and for people like El and AJM (who specifically mention they seek your lifestyle) illustrate what any of us can achieve - because we both know our backgrounds :)

I am intrigued though .......... being a simple man

See you in a week :smileyhea

I have no money to overpay :rotfl:

    See you soon xxxx

So, after my slight telling off by Mr GG about no money updates, here is the latest:

In other news, now 3 eggs :T.

I realised this morning that for you to have a nanna nap is actually a huge thing - after all those 2.5 hour amounts of sleeps, a nanna nap is really important in terms of staying well. Thats finance news of a sort :D

    Very informative money update LOL
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Well at least it was 100% accurate :rotfl:. I suppose I do have money news, of a sort. House is up for rent. Told estate agent at 4pm last night and no viewing so far, no-one wants it, all my retirement plans are up in smoke and I will die penniless in the gutter :o.

In the hope I'm being overly pessimistic, I now need to keep the house tidy at all times, and reasonably clean . Difficult to do when you're trying to pack up said house . Why oh why am I not going straight to Dubai with the nice removal people packing for me :(. Sourced a load of cardboard boxes, aka asked the nice man in Tescos if I could have some. Bought two cheap rolls of Anaglypta wallpaper - I like using that for packing. Massive roll of bubblewrap on its way. Packing & Storage Warehouse (aka 'the kitchen' established and I have worked out the floor area of what I can take. Decided on how I'm going to do it - sticker on top of box to say what's in it. All boxes to go in Spain Bedroom 2 unless marked Bedroom1, Kitchen or Upstairs. The vast majority will go in B2 until [STRIKE]I invent additional storage space[/STRIKE] decide where best to put. The need to keep things tidy coupled with the need to list some things on ebay that realistically the buyers won't want filled with my treasures has dictated the order of events:
A* Cut grass [STRIKE]Done, at least first cut, will go over in a little bit when dried and the flattened bits have jumped up again [/STRIKE]:D. DONE
B Weed front properly & weed back quickly
C Touch up living room paint, Except this involves removing pictures and large mirror, filling in holes, washing walls, touching up paint, sitting and ignoring the fact that the touch ups are obvious and room looks dirty. Probably cracking and making a bolt for B&Q. But if I do the living room then hall gloss will look awful so I may crack there as well .
    D Clean oven Cleaner on.
    E Feed lawn

    * Above were late entries once decided to give letting agent the go ahead so got moved to top of the list :o.

    Packing:
    1. Cookery books - including weighing to make sure maximum weight of planned shelves won't be exceeded. Packed, need to weigh.
    2. Tagines - again including weighing as these will be on display
    3. Study - massive job, need to sort out four large filing drawers, a few boxes and a bookcase so I can sell desk and bookcase
    4. Shed & garden - clean out shed, decide what pots I want to take, empty and wash. Lift solar lights and wash. [STRIKE]Almost done. Just need to wash them so will do that now. [/STRIKE] DONE
    5. Garage
    6. Kitchen - glass unit
    7. Glassware
    8. Tupperware
    9. Dresser unit - miscellaneous
    10. Dresser unit - terracotta plates and dishes Washing them first - in dishwasher
    11. Microwave - probably pack filled with tupperware
    12. Double unit - casseroles
    13. Double unit - other dishes
    14. Double unit - bowls
    15. Slow cooker - pack filled with something
    16. Vases
    17. Drawers
    18. Under sink - pots & pans
    19. Under sink - baking trays etc
    20. Dolly the Shopping Trolley :D
    21. Boxes in hall - possibly pack wrapped glasses in them?
    22. Lamp in living room
    23. Wii - write down where cables connect
    24. TV - need to find big box
    25. Bathroom - won't take long, basically done
    26. Bed 1 - plastic storage boxes
    27. Utility room cupboard
    28. Pantry - coats (eek  - forgot about them)
    29. Clothes - sort out to winter, summer that fits, summer than nearly fits, lose 3 stone then fits, charity shop, bin, then pack
    30. All stuff boxed up already - bring downstairs, check, seal and label.
That should keep me out of mischief for the next three weeks :eek::eek:.

You can do it GG when we packed up and sold house and virtually all our belongings to move to Cyprus in just 5 weeks people said we were mad and we wouldn't make it..... We did it and we're happy but shattered we skidded into airport just in time with just 7 peices of very large checked in luggage 2 flight bags and two small lap bags.
