Ed: I oddly like "Osprette". Mind, I'm not exactly good at names; my son was named after a character in my favourite opera and at first my wife wished to call him by his middle name because she didn't like the name very much..

The weather is not keech any more :rotfl:.
Just had a phonecall to say the heating engineer is coming to service my boiler and fix leak. This means I can't got to local market. What a full diary I have .A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Gally, I was having exactly the same thought! I do actually have a music degree, so I was trying to match the Alex I've read on MSE up with operas. Given his stance on most modern music, I'm thinking that Rossini, Donizetti etc. would all be a bit light and insubstantial for him - however, I'm not necessarily writing off everything in the Italianate style and coming down decisively on the German composers, because of his love of the finer things in life such as classic cars and fountain pens - that's definitely more Italian.
I'm guessing that Alex would want to avoid anything that might cause sniggering at school, so that's most of Wagner out and I don't think we're going to be looking at anything more modern, so I can scratch Britten and Schoenberg et al. I suppose we could be avant-garde and go French with something from Gounod's Faust, but I think I'm going to plump with the more serious Italians, the only dilemma is which period? He doesn't strike me as being as early as Monteverdi, so I'm going to stick my pin in either Puccini or Verdi.
How did I do??0 -
Love the scenery.
Why are osprey's so much more interesting than a row of figures??? and a calculator?Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Second hand book case delivered for upstairs room - has glass doors which I may put fabric over as you'll see all my [STRIKE]crap[/STRIKE] important paperwork in front of you as you go up the stairs. Only €60, free delivery, immaculate and same unit in another second hand shop was €130 :T. Now going to look for a single wardrobe/tall cupboard to go into a small recess.
Inventing lots of little storage opportunities - hair dryer hanging up on back wall of wardrobe, 'bucket' with brush, mousse etc hanging beneath it. Also discovered that my UK spice rack will fit in the boiler cupboard so ordered two - one for cupboard beneath. Boiler not used extensively so shouldn't affect the herbs too much.
Current thinking is, as visas not through yet, I'll spend summer in Spain and go to ME in October. Don't want to be going to ME at start of summer as too chuffing hot , would have been different if I'd been out there by now acclimatising. Will see Mr GG every month somewhere nice.
Two hours on beach today :T, at one stage there were seven other people on it but I soon saw them all off.

:rotfl: Excellent analysis, Cazmanian.
You're not far off with my preferences; in fact, the last opera my wife and I went to see was La Traviata in the winter. My son isn't called anything obscure and I'd like to think his name will not be sniggered at. However, it is Wagnerian.Em. yes, that's what I thought as well. Cos I don't think Little LK is called Carmen :rotfl:/
No, unfortunately I was told Carmen was an inappropriate choice by the registrar.2018 totals:

My guess is Tristan, was my guess before you gave the Wagner clue
Sorry for the lengthy opera hijack GG, I realise it has precious little to do with ospreys :rotfl:
Ps. Now I quite like Tannhauser, mebbe next time...0 -
However, it is Wagnerian..
Off to do dog-walking in a bit :T, keyholder coming round about some jobs I need doing, going for a long walk along a promenade in nearby town I don't really know - will have a window mooch around their shops (probably during their siesta so that will be cheap), need to get a few bits'n'pieces and decide what to have for dinner. Another exhausting day :rotfl:.
