    A potentially more serious problem is with the flaming computer itself. The left hand button makes a really loud clicking noise - nothing wrong with the laptop, it's supposed to do this.....

    It can't be disabled as it's not a 'noise' option, it's a design 'feature' - em I think they mean flaw........

    Need to decide how much it is going to annoy me pretty quickly........

  • Oh dear, I'm going to have Windows 8 forced upon me fairly soon, I think, as my laptop is on its last legs. Not looking forward to it.

    Well all I can suggest is what I did, although not a laptop. I bought a computer without the operating system and bought Windows 7 off Amazon. Works just fine and 4 months later I am just about fine with the spreadsheets. Last week I finally found out how NOT to print a zero. Who on earth would have expected that to be an advanced setting!

    Windows 8. !!!!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    That's what I thought. The free upgrade to 8.1 was a distinct improvement on 8 though.

    Seriously don't like Office 2013 and have unsubscribed from Office 365 and got Office 2010 instead.

    Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
    Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Honestly GG, I go away for a couple of weeks and get back to find you've been buying houses, selling houses and paying off mortgages!

    Good work!

    It's not a good idea to decide to get 4 bedroom (well, 3 plus study) carpets replaced on the same day unless you have another LARGE unaffected room to put everything in :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:. Let's just say if I go to the loo during the night and anything shifts........ I may be no more :o.

    Currently 38.2k :T, going back over 39k when I put the tax money into premium bonds.
