:wave:Hello all
Back from hol
Which was fab
House purchase went through while we were away
Which was a bit stressful
Mr GG's little bruv has done a bit of tidying in the garden today & it looks much better already
Got nice light fittings from Focus, sofa & chair from freecycle (gave them £5 for petrol as they delivered it & put it in lounge for me :T), also cracking under counter fridge for £40
No luck on anything else yet
Kitchen man coming to look at 'no doors on kitchen units' issue on Fri
Em, porch appears to be falling away from the house
We appear to have misplaced the boiler. Here's hoping it's in the loft, where the neighbour thinks it is :rotfl:
Have got leccy but no gas as they need to send out a special card to clear the debt, so until that is done no water either (waiting on friendly gas man to refill system when he [STRIKE]finds[/STRIKE] switches on the boiler)
Money update to follow (warning - not for the faint hearted )A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Still over 16k
, will drop to 15k by end of week then above 16k again as I will need to pay for roof repairs
Ahem, that was less than a month ago
So - we owed around 16k on no. 1 mortgage and around another 100k on BTL's. I was 6k ahead of Mr GG and he was promising to match that in June and then keep apace with me. The 16k would have been cleared as planned by my birthday at end of Aug. I also owed 25.5k on BTL mortgage on late mum's house.
Well, I still owe 25.5k on BTL . We stumped up over 20k from offset savings (of which I had contributed the extra 6k) to buy the house & Mr GG came up with the rest. So, instead on me being 6k up I am now 61.5k behind*:rotfl::o. So, just over 87k to find :rotfl:.
Is ok. I have a plan

Part 1 - clear 25.5k by end of 2012
Part 2 - clear 61.5k by end of Aug 2016
All my extra income will go to clear BTL, with Mr GG's agreement, as it has an interest rate of 4.5%. I have a few tricks up my sleeve - savings payout of at least 3k, tax rebate of over 1k each year, DD owes me 4k which she should start to payback next year, bonuses at work of around £1800 a year, slight surplus on BTL income, DS currently 'paying back' 1k by me withholding £70 a month from BTL income. Part 1 should be simple :rotfl:.
And if I do achieve it to target then Part 2 will follow on nicely :rotfl:.
What it does mean is that my mortgage challenges have been blown out of the water. Also, Mr GG won't be matching my payments till I am equal with him, he will be rebuilding his savings, and this means my aim to pay all debt off by 55 may not be achieved. (I originally wrote 'won't be achieved' but have downgraded it to 'may not be' already)

Definitely in a good way !!
Lovely of you to help out with house purchase - I have an image of you swanning around in your new hat buying houses actually....:rotfl:0 -
Thank you all
We are now pretty hard up, which is quite amusing in its own way, give it a month or so and we will be back on our feet. Wouldn't like to go back to that state full-time , which makes me all the more determined to get it all paid off & save up for retirement.
What little money we have spare is going on stuff for the house. Luckily I have a load of Tesco £20 DTD vouchers so we won't go hungry :rotfl:. Oh, and plenty Wolf Blass which worked out at £1 a bottle, so we won't be thirsty eitherA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
