Whatelse does a woman need if not food, booze and loo roll. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

OK, quick update time*:
- Finances at rock bottom
- 1 tenant only paid 1/2 rent
- New house issues - wiring condemned, central heating needs overhauled, leaking stopcock & £900 bill for new kitchen doors etc _pale_
- 61.5k behind Mr GG in equity
, so
- 25 items on ebay, 8 selling, £31 so far, that'll make a big dent
- Got my !!! in gear & submitted tax return - £1763 smackaroonies coming my way :T.
- Need to remember that £72 of that is on Gift Aid charity donations so will pass that on to them (which will generate another £14.40 next year
.) Nice Mr Tax Man :j
- Made a bit of a hash of doing work budgets today so will work from home Thurs to fix, saving £15
- I have food & alcohol & toilet roll so all is well
* Note cunning use of bullet points :rotfl:
Well, since last update:- Tenant paid rest of rent
- Wiring being fixed. I'm not an electrician, but even I know that bypassing the fuse box when wiring up the shower is not a good idea, nor is having brass light switches which are not earthed
- Kitchen being done next week
- Turned on water tonight to fill kettle for hot water to wash kitchen. Cue water gushing through the ceiling upstairs . I had turned on water last week with no apparent problems but all taps were full on so that obviously reduced pressure. At least I can tell plumber where leak is as I could see where rafter was wet. Oh well, carpet looking cleaner :rotfl:
- OH's brother is decorating house. Hmmmmm. What's the saying......... 'if you want a job doing properly'....... painted over nails in walls......gloss paint....... coving........ let's just leave it at that shall we
- Ebay raised £200 :j
- So £200 off my btl mortgage which knocked 2 months off :T.
- This also knocked the amount I need to pay to get rid of in 5 years down to £12.996
, obviously back over £13 tomorrow
- Sold a DVD (which I won the day before
), so that will go to btl when paid :T
- Still waiting on tax rebate
- Away for weekend at a wedding, so that will be fun. Picking OH up from Hereford station, am having the afternoon off with flexi, so will be hitting some posh charity shops
- Have booked flights for Spain for my birthday, also hire car, need to make decision as to whether to stay night before in hotel or drive up at stupid o'clock (still need to get up at nearly stupid o'clock if stay in hotel)
- Need to book hire car for June trip

No, water through the ceiling was positive as it's cleaned carpet :rotfl:. Actually, been round there this morning & ceiling etc fine - it came out through loft hatch & light () so no damage done.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

if you need to get up a stupid o'clock even if you stay in a hotel you might as well just drive up as getting up that early will ruin your night anyway and saving can be put into overpayment[STRIKE]£106,200[/STRIKE] mortgage with 5% deposit 2 years ago on 6.99% 04/06/08
Overpaying the max 10% per year for the next 2 years until July 2013 when I can remortgage and should be able to get down to 55% LTV.
Overpaid 10% £10,619.87 Dec 2010 & 10% £9,475 Aug 2011
Mortgage was £690 now £560
Currently £85,203 - 71% LTV 26/08/110 -
Just had a catch up of your diary, great read!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

I know, but it makes the holiday a night longer, plus it was only £5 dearer (admittedly plus a meal). Need to sort it out.
So, what has been happening since I last prattled on?- Kitchen in new house being done tomorrow
- DK when electrics being finished. He will NOT be used again
- So, still no gas, still no water
- Lovely weekend away, not too expensive
- Friends coming at weekend, with their 2 and 4 year olds
- Need to buy some more night cream while in London Thursday, will get 2 if on offer so that will be around £37. But helps me keep young(er) looking
- Still living off the remnants of Tesco DTD, will need to do a proper shop on Friday
- Managed to lock myself out of NW banking, just when I really need it :wall:
- Got a booking for apartment for summer, £600, £100 now, the rest in a month or so :T
- Pay day Thursday, including around £800 bonus :j
- There should be some quidco & Amazon money in NW, waiting to be transferred to BTL mortgage
- Whopping tax rebate hasn't been received yet, phoned helpline, it may be another 3 weeks
- Holiday in 16 sleeps :j, 16 days from now at this precise moment I will be sitting on terrace watching sky get darker & lights come on in villages. How do I know what's what we'll be doing? Em, cos that's what we do most nights :rotfl:
- Which reminds me, hire car not booked, off to have a look, toodlepip
