Oops, missing in action again :o. Not much to report really. DS wants to borrow 1k towards a new car so that has gone. Current balance is 16158.71 :(

Random thought - I have never lived in a house that has been 100% owned. Parents rented then had a mortgage. I have always had a mortgage. this needs to change! Pronto!

More random thoughts now I have discovered the bullet button :o
    • Made a small OP on BTL mortgage from cashing in Peefer Pig. Doesn't change payoff date but have chalked up just over 1k in Op's this year so far :j
    • Went to withdraw my ebay takings of £5.77 but £6 needed to withdraw & nothing on ebay at the mo :(
    • Op's on big mortgages a bit up in the air as Mr GG's mum not so good. Amongst many random money things being discussed I somehow ended up going to see a repo house today (not for me, or Mr GG, or Mr GG's mum, v long story :o). Fortunately, although well worth the money, not what we were looking for. Close shave though. Can you get parental lock on Right Move :rotfl:.
    • I left the study door open and the paper monkeys have had two parties - one on desk and one on floor. I think they advertised open house on facebook as I'm sure I didn't have that much paper. I may just shred everything :o
Oh look, what does this button do?

Never noticed that before either :rotfl:

To paraphrase someone (!!!!!! Cheney?) it's the unknown unknowns we need to worry about :rotfl:. In my defence I did manage to work out how to go to 1st unread post all on my own :).

Still over 16k :(, will drop to 15k by end of week then above 16k again as I will need to pay for roof repairs :(

Just had lovely weekend with bessie mate who lives at the seaside :j, sunshine & fun & lots of sea. And an amazing hat - it's the red one :).

Need a bit of a refocus I think - long heart to heart money wise with Mr G at the weekend

Glad everyone else is keeping on keeping on - remember folks:

Oops been missing in action as had a lot going on:

Got to target weight at SW :j (but will set a new target as want to lose a bit more).

Roof repairs done on tenants house :)

Loads of Tesco DTD shopping, house is bulging :rotfl:

    2 sleeps till holiday :T.

Accidentally bought another house :o. Oops, how did that happen :rotfl:. V long story but needed somewhere for Mr GG's brother to live. Idly looked on rightmove (doh ) and found a real bargain repo. Went to view but they had an offer going through for 98k so didn't pursue. Phone call about 12 days ago to say had fallen through, viewed with Mr GG Sat 9th, offer of 90k accepted on 11th, exchanged yesterday, complete 28th :rotfl:. A bit hairy yesterday as they had another, higher offer come in but they decided to go with us as we had the cash and were ready to exchange - it had already fallen through 3 times since Nov.
House is a Wimpey semi in really nice street (where I grew up & Mr GG's 1st serious gf lived!). bit tatty & they took doors off kitchen units but basically sound. Same house 2 doors down (in better condition, but ours has an extension) was sale agreed at 35k more - now fallen through, no doubt when they saw the offer in the paper for ours .
The sharp eyed amongst you will have noticed the phrase 'we had the cash' :D. Em, maybe should read 'will have the cash...... hopefully' ;). Basically, Mr GG had a lot of savings & S&S ISA which he no longer has :rotfl:. Our offset now has less than £100 in it. The little trays in the car where you store coins for car parks are empty :). We have paid the deposit and need to sort out a CHAPS payment while we're in Spain so that will be fun :o.

Not sure where that leaves me in the challenges, apart from v v badly behind :rotfl:. Mr GG had paid around 6.5k less than me and, after our 'big talk' was going to make it up in July. I'm now around 63.5k short so I will be playing catch up for a few years :rotfl:. Mr GG will be building up his savings so won't contribute anything so no way will we meet my 'pay it all off by 55' challenge, but for a v good reason. V pleased we've got a bargain and could sell tomorrow for a lot more so looking at the bigger picture :T.

    END OF CONFESSION
