I'm hoping the snow stays away from here this year as it seriously affected our finances last year.
    Do you have snow Z?
Scotland seems to have it very bad at the moment

No. We had about 1cm on Tuesday, but that is pretty much a meaningless amount TBH and it had all gone by Wednesday.

This morning it absolutely lashed it down (actually lashed it sideways). Now it is rain-free, but the wind is *howling*.

  • Glad you're not dead, nor in the wind, not been too bad here today (well its relative) - but hitting tonight.

Hope you're warm, well and getting the time to get over that cold.

Hello! Well, the sun has risen, nothing's been crashing about in the garden like at Pippi's, and one of my comfrey plants that was still on the garden table with a slug protector over it (the inside of a microwave steamer that got cracked, if you must know :D) is *still* on the garden table, complete with hat, so it can't have been very bad down here.

I did a few necessary phone calls and whatnot yesterday, went to Sainsbo, and in the afternoon managed about 15 minutes (literally - I'm going to have to flylady my accounts :() of accounts work, but then did actually have some paid work, hurray, so this week hasn't been nearly as bad as I feared financially.

Today? Another 15 minutes on the accounts, off to the bank to feed it some berries (I like that, got it from Lula), and I might even see if there's some easy Christmas shopping I can do. Writing out Christmas cards is also becoming urgent _pale_ but I'm already slightly ahead of the game there :j

Actually, Taxi, I'm completely incapable of working properly at the moment :o I've been to the bank, I bought a doggy Christmas stocking for my brother's dog, window shopped a bit, and that was that :o

I like the sound of hibernating with your eyes open. It is the time of year for it. I went out this morning and it wiped me out completely. You take it easy and do what you can and dont feel guilty about not doing what you cant.

hibernating with my eyes open sums up perfectly how I am as well so know how you feel.
  • Agree with all, don't worry about not doing things, just do enough to get by, and if you need to hibernate, then do it. Sometimes we just need to recharge our batteries.

    :santa2: Good morning!

Thats right, I am just getting by right now - I have some energy during the day, but come night time, I can't wait to be snuggled up. I think I need to do a little bit more, a little bit later in the day, so I can sleep properly.

During the day yesterday, I seem to have gained a beautiful wheelbarrow :money::money::money: I do do *some* stuff!

I was out collecting more leaves, and saw a pensioner struggling with her own, on her path. I offered to take them, as I was collecting about ten yards away anyway - so I took one lot, and when I went back 5 minutes later, she gave me loads that were ready for her son to take to the tip, and a huge metal wheelbarrow with a lovely soft wheel to take them back to my house with :o she was dying to get rid of it! I'm not quite sure yet how it'll be of best use to me, but I'll figure it out, I can't say not to something of that level of quality!

And this morning, I seem to have managed to do about a dozen Christmas cards, without trying too hard. I'm quite puzzled :o

I do need to hop over to the next town, and buy a bit of pesto, I'm completely out  but it'll just be a bit, because its Waitrose :rotfl:

And does anybody know about fridge freezers (only a year old) whose motor is disturbingly loud? I think I need to go to the shop ...
