Hi KC -
very excited to hear that the shiny new laptop is about to embark on its maiden voyage
0 -
So true! I'm very chuffed. I registered there and then, and bob's my uncle (not our Bob, that bob over there
)
On the same trip out, I did the banking, bought the necessary brazil nuts (2 a day for selenium!) and some dried dates going at £2 a kilo.
Plus I did the Claire's Accessories 10 for £10 - I bought 4 really nice clutch bags in different colours, a pair of lacy knitted fingerless gloves, nice long cuffs, 2 chunky bracelets and 2 collections of bangles. I'm so chuffed!
I also bought that 59 second self help book - I've got this year's books for my CPD work, but that will do next year's well, and it was only £1.50 in a charity shop
The other laptop is sitting on the desk, which was cleared of other paperwork. I'll shut this one down in a bit, as the phone and the leads and whatnot will all have to travel too...
Checks for *gender* change:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
On another note- great news about the dentist- Mike( lisa waters) is looking out for one for a friend of his and i wondered if it was in a similar local? Off to hunt for the linkie from kittikins and see if it is of any use.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Is Waitrose pesto far superior to other brands? Love pasta and pesto

Yes it is
:D:D I'm addicted
It has a "sweetness" that the others just don't have, they taste sour (not in a good way) in comparison, even things that cost even more. The only one that bears comparison, I think because its garlicky/salty not sour, is Asda smartprice (less than half the price ). Very weird.
Oops .... running across a prejudice of mine here, ever since Martin begged her publicly to stop those dreadful advertisements for that finance form - she didn't, for ages, and I really dislike her for itHey KC well done on the laptop. Getting it onto the web is a small step now.
I really like Wilkinsons and it is one of the things that I miss about where I live now. No Wilkinsons within 100 miles!
I loved it! Lampshade for standard lamp £6. 2 cushion pads, £1.25 each. One voile curtain, with metal rings to thread a curtain pole through (very wide, and too long but better too little than too much) £7 - if it works well, I'll buy another for the other part of the mix.
I also really like pasta and pesto - not as much as mashed potatoes obviously but it is really nice. KC have you tried rice pasta (thinking about your intolerances) and if so how did you find it. I started eating that for a while and got quite used to it. Must see if I can find it again.
Thats the pasta I use, cheri - its Asda rice and maize pasta, £1.53, same price as everyone else's, but its organic as well :jIt has to be smothered in sauce basically
but I can't use wheat.
How is the detox going? I would recommend the Carol Vorderman detox book, it has lots of useful information in there including supplements to take and a 28 day meal planner with all of the recipes. There are some really tasty ways of eating no meat, dairy or wheat in there. No alcohol allowed but I used to cheat at the weekends and have a treat.
sorry.
My own detox isn't going so great at the moment - thats two bars of chocolate leftover from Christmas that I've *devoured* this week
you are doing well with setting the laptop up.
hope you've enjoyed your trip out...
Ah. Bummer. Laptop still not working. Will try *again* tomorrow.
Tried to cancel Denplan, and got a flood of bad news about how the NHS charges, and individual dentists here may charge much less than I'm paying right now for private .... more research is needed, just so I know what I'm getting into ... for instance, I'm absolutely sure that I don't want any more mercury fillings, if I have to have any more ...
As above, tho, the shopping trip was excellent - popped in to a salvage yard by the train station, and had an interesting idea of using one of those dragons you see on roof tiles as a garden ornament. And I also wonder about one-off tiles as a splashback in the 2nd loo ....
And does anybody know about those shopping trolleys? I bought one with some Christmas money, and I was carrying it down some stairs at the station, and a wheel came off! It looks like its not supposed to be fixed on, almost .... have I got a duff one, or is that normal for those things? Its a bit mad, really

No need to apologise. I hadn't really given that any thought. You are right though. it was wrong of her to promote that and it used to irritate me to death. Mind you all of those adverts used to annoy me. Wont mention her again

Glad you enjoyed the wilkinsons shopping. I think that those type of voiles look better when they pool onto the floor. Very ethereal (is that the right word? - I think not.)
Love the idea of the different tiles in the loo. I like eclectic though. I also love dragons so I think you should do the garden ornament idea too. I am envious of your shopping, I love Wilkinsons and I have always wanted to visit a salvage yard.
Sounds like a good day all around. Not too sure about the wheeels. I have a funny little wheelie case that turns into a back pack and when I was in London this year the wheels stopped working and then 2 days later started again. Maybe they will just lock back in? Why not take it back to where you bought it from and do the woman fluttering eyes oh woe is me I am not really sure routine. They will either replace, give you your money back or fix it. If they fix it just giggle and say oh how silly of me. I never get away with anything like that but my friend does. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

Its not just you, cheri, I feel quite bad for disliking her about it - she comes from a tough background, and has a genuine gift for numbers, and decided to glam up and not care what anyone thought of her.

Ooh, yes it is the right word. Love that look! Its in the porch, tho, and people (i.e. me) would kill themselves tripping over things

Awww....

I can manage that sometimes; I took it back 20 minutes after I bought it, because a wheel was squeaking, I wanted to know where best to oil it, but he just swapped the frames around
I think its just a design fault - and lets face it, its a shopping trolley, I won't be taking it on the train regularly. And if I do, on the very odd occasion, I'll just bump it up and down the steps :rotfl:between the laptop and not having got my mobile going yet, and a couple of smoke alarms, I can't face doing the shopping trolley too. **such** a wimp. Not to mention a princess

I don't think it is, Bob - its in my town, which is Haywards Heath.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Cheri - sounds like you need a weekend down our way
KC and I can show you all our haunts (hmm....the nearest towns aren't that inspiring, unless you really genuinely do have a need to go to Wilko's, lol)! is WOL nearby too? I've never *spoken* to her, but lurked for a while on her diary and love her little furry piggies. 0 -
Kitti, thanks but whilst it sounds appealing there are things here that I love more than shops hence giving up the urban life and tootling into the countrysid/seaside and it would take a lot more than shopping to get me to go to another seaside town! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Horsham is medieval, thats absolutely wonderful. No swearing parrots tho, which is quite a disadvantage :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Ah- well you never know, it may well be the only NHS dentist in the Southern Counties.:rotfl::rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
