Hi turfy - wow, thats quite a delay. I hope they all enjoy it, they deserve it!
The door is a problem, its true - it wasn't on this year's budget, but I did know there were bad draughts around it, and it would certainly help the house as a whole. There again, this house is pretty good weatherwise - I have two summer weight duvets on the bed, and I often have to throw the top one off overnight - not in the cold snap, admittedly, but I've done it twice this week, including when I woke up to a hard frost.
Right, action plan. Bit of a ta-da list first:
- bird food out
- unpacked one of the last 2 cardboard boxes in the living room, with lots of electrical gear in - some recycled, some used, the rest now stored in the appropriate place. I'm *very* happy with that.
To do list:
- MUST reset the timer on the heating system - we had another little power cut yesterday, and I can't switch off either the heating or, more importantly, the hot water - I don't need that system on the way I need the heating on.
- get in touch with the insurance company, and find out what they think of the door - might have to phone Wol *today* about that, bit scary if I'm not covered _pale_
- keep to my contract with Squizz to set the laptop up in the office, and start loading the programmes I'll need
I'm looking forward to that :j
That'll do for now!
EDIT - a crucial one to be added to the list - register with an NHS dentist TODAY that Kittikins has just told me about. They're taking new people, I've just checked. I'm a very, very happy bunny - I've been private dental for years and years, so this will save me £33 a month :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Great news on the dentist as they are so hard to come by.0

So true! I'm very chuffed. I registered there and then, and bob's my uncle (not our Bob, that bob over there
)
On the same trip out, I did the banking, bought the necessary brazil nuts (2 a day for selenium!) and some dried dates going at £2 a kilo.
Plus I did the Claire's Accessories 10 for £10 - I bought 4 really nice clutch bags in different colours, a pair of lacy knitted fingerless gloves, nice long cuffs, 2 chunky bracelets and 2 collections of bangles. I'm so chuffed!
I also bought that 59 second self help book - I've got this year's books for my CPD work, but that will do next year's well, and it was only £1.50 in a charity shop
The other laptop is sitting on the desk, which was cleared of other paperwork. I'll shut this one down in a bit, as the phone and the leads and whatnot will all have to travel too...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds like a very productive bargainous day.0
