Its an online organisation, Troy - there's local groups all over the country, all over the Western/First World, I think. Its usually a yahoo group, and it might be called freecycle or freegle - there was a kerfuffle last year, when different things happened.

And yes, its exactly that - you put an advert up, saying offered or wanted, people can send to your email address, and you sort out the exchange between you. I belonged to the local group in my previous town, and I never had these sorts of issues, people were lovely. Just the luck of the draw, I think. Give it a go and see!

Haven't done them yet - as I finished work, there was a powercut, and I had some energy, so I went into the town centre - got a credit note from bathstore for the unused bottle trap, but I won't be able to get my pebble Plug now for technical reasons I really CBA to write down in full.... may get it anyway when I refit the sink in the bathroom before summer this year, especially in view of a good looking tap thats also helpful re arthritis.

I have finally renewed my insurance cover, with RL cover in spite of having clients in the house. But I told them every entrance and exit was lockable - and tho the front door has 5 point locks, there's nothing in the door frame to lock them into :o:(

I've phoned them up and told them, but I've only just done it, so I'm guessing they won't get back to me today. I think I might be getting a new front door! Its very draughty, and I don't think its mendable....

Just did a tiny little bit of French accounts paperwork, but not much. Thats it for now, I'm off to watch Jamie *again* :D And eat pancakes :D

I like them like that too! But I need to be really healthy, so they're savoury - I might just do an egg over them, with tapenade - have to have some greens later, or even first to get them out of the way :D

Have a nice evening yourself, Troy.

I love pancakes, I've got a really old cookbook where they do a savoury one with tuna and sweetcorn in between the layers of pancakes. They show them in a stack but you could wrap them up like a tortilla!

With the lock, do you mean that you told them it doesnt have anything for the shoot bolts to lock into? I have a lot of insurance knowledge and understand the rules and what they can get out of in the event of a burglary claim. If they don't work and you don't want to replace the door yet you could check with them the required deadbolt - which will have a separate key and that should cover it. Always best to be sure - Mum and Dad were lucky when they were burgled as the assessor was very fair about a deadbolt not being on the bottom half of a stable type door.

Let me know if you need any help.

Re. the lock, I told them there was a 5 point lock that worked - and there isn't! There's 5 bolts on the door, but they don't move, and there's nothing for them to lock into, and no key mechanism to work them :o There is a non-lock :rotfl: not quite the same as an ex-parrot, but we can't have everything :D

If a deadbolt was enough and could be fitted to an existing door, maybe - there's practically a gale blowing from that door, I'm not sure about spending anything on it .... bit tired now :o and can't articulate what I want to say, but thank you for the offer ..... see you tomorrow.
