I'm not sure yet if it agrees with me ... dont have a breadmaker, but I do have an all singing all dancing food processor
There's a question for you a few posts up, Z, about painkillers.

You know what puzzles me about painkillers? Its whether they let me do stuff that creates further harm to my joints.... thats what really bugs me, and why I don't take very many. When I mentioned that to the rheumatologist I got such an automatic "oh, of course not" answer I couldn't trust it - I like chapter and verse, and she was practically pushing me out of the door at the time.
Do you know any references about that issue, Z? And I'm sorry you've had such pain tooo....
Mine is osteo, so different cause, but the same general rules apply. If we don't take enough pain killers, the pain causes the muscles and ligaments to seize up. That makes the pain worse so we do less. This causes the supporting muscles to become weaker and eventually atrophied. This cycle continues. If we can overcome the pain, then we move more easily and keep the supporting muscles strong. This allows us to function better.
It took me a long while to learn that. The physio said my lack of balance was partly caused by weak muscles. After 8 weeks, I now have real baby quadriceps and even little biceps.
Apparently, we should take the pain killers regularly and not wait for the pain to strike. There's a lot of useful info on this site.
Z : I'm one of the folk who goes "floating around going "Wooo...".:rotfl:
One last thing, Z is correct about avoiding a peptic ulcer. To take care of this I have Omeprazole (prescription only) to help avoid that and the Diclonofec is enteric coated.
As for changing doctors . . . I'm slightly afraid of jumping from the frying pan into the fire. While I can take charge myself and do my own research, I'll just go when I need a change of prescription.
And why am I writing this at this stupid hour? Because I fell asleep in front of the TV, woke at 11 and went to bed, then am wide awake now! :mad:But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
The short answer is no. Remember your joints aren't being damaged by what you're doing, they're being damaged by your immune system. You could lie in bed immobile and they will still be getting degraded. Anti-inflamatories will actually help (slightly) in that instance in that your immune system will not be attracted to the area by the inflammation.
If it's not there, then it's not attacking there...
If it had been osteoarthritis, then the answer would have been slightly more complicated, but the upshot of that is "by the time you feel the pain, it has already happened".
Thanks Z ... it may or may not be osteo, I still don't know, but I guess the principle holds, especially given what Tricia wrote below.Hassles me for an answer the boogers off...:D:D don't you just know it :kisses3:

Tricia, thank you for this! I realise I don't have any clue on how to manage these "new" symptoms ... I'm going to have to put a bit of research time in, I think. Its absolutely shocking that no one in the NHS has sat with me and given me even a list of links, for example, let alone given me any information themselves.
I saw the timestamp of your post - ouch! Hope you feel okay today with it all.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Thanks RT! It has been rough, but I'm getting through. Pondering on what to do with the day now, as I'm not seeing my sister after all ... I don't want to do any gardening, but its *so* beautiful out there :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
 morning kc
Hope you are feeling better today and have plans for a restful day. Have a potter, just do what you feel like. After all , there is only you that knows whether you've done it or not.
I can't comment on the pain thing, as fortunately it is not something I'm knowledgeable about personally.
In fact, as part of a tidy up last week I checked the dates on the aspirins - expired 2 years ago! They probably wouldn't have actually killed me.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Morning! Lots better, thank you
Plans have all changed round, as I'm not seeing my sis; I wondered about going to the Next sale, to the outlet shop, but its a little bit of a trek to get there, and when I was there I'd have to, you know, try clothes on! So thats a no go :rotfl:
I might actually plant the lambs tongue I've got sitting in my flowerbed, and then wander off to gather some sloes, they're supposed to be nice and juicy in September. There are some blackberries hanging on, and a few flowers here and there, but the picking season has gone. Sloes seem a bit later tho.
I love this stuff! And I'm really enjoying reading Alys's book :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

You should take them regularly then. Keep the rest of us amused...As for changing doctors . . . I'm slightly afraid of jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
So you change again. There's plenty of them. And why am I writing this at this stupid hour? Because I fell asleep in front of the TV, woke at 11 and went to bed, then am wide awake now!
