Tricia - I found where I got the thing about Wharfedale from - its this:

    http://www.zoence.com/article/the-continent-of-europe

The one I was referring to is the second map down on the right entitled Mercury: The Grail Land - the map expands. I had it in a booklet, and its online now, of course. The booklet actually sounds a bit potty now, but it made sense at the time :)

Thanks. Have you read any of Mary Renault's books? They are retellings of some myths.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Sounds like a lovely weekend! Love the fact you are starting to make the garden your own - would be easy to stick with what was there, but so much better to make it 'yours' :)

Oh I *love* her books! Christian Jacq on Egypt is unreadable for me, but Mary is brilliant - she's one of the reasons I love Greece (and Alexander!) so much.

Hope you have fun at the quiz :)
Thanks Maty! I did - lost at card Monopoly, lost at Pass the Pigs, but thats part of the fun :j:D
Hope you had a lovely evening and got to wear something 'planned' rather than just something that was *there* or *clean*.
I did! The one I was planning to wear didn't quite look the part, so I wore the black lace skirt with the flesh-coloured lining, and a black men's waistcoat with sparkles on the front, with a fuschia t shirt underneath, and *loads* of bangles and whatnot :j I wore the M&S shoes I bought for the wedding, as they were so comfortable, but that wasn't quite so successful, as I had to walk a little too fast in them to get to the train station, and my arthritis kicked off - still, the shoes themselves are still comfy...

Thank you :kisses3: I realised what I was doing, and got determined to stop it, it just doesn't make sense to do that. So the mint is planted, currently in solitary splendour, tho that will change.

I'm back on form now :D:D:D and I really have to get going :j:j:j

For my 50th birthday, I got a 5 day trip to Crete - on my own - and wallowed in the Minoan culture.

Did you see Michael Wood's series on Alexander? It was very good and we now have the DVDs. :j:j

I don't think I saw all of them, sadly :o tho I have an image of him following the line of march along the Arabian coast, and actually having to be up to his chest in seawater.... wonderful stuff.

Five days in Crete! I've been to Iraklion twice, just staying in a hostel, and I absolutely *adored* Hania - stayed in a studio apartment practically on the front, tho couldn't see it as we only had a skylight - but when we got out onto the roof, the views were *spectacular* :j Can't wait to get back :j

Right, I have 7 items to go to the Post Office!!! (including two "not known at this address", but we won't talk about that :) ) Two more, including one awful one, the NHS complaint about that locum GP at my last place, and I'm done on the post for the day :) I'm absolutely amazed at how much there is. And I've very consciously stayed away from the dratted computer games, tho I have played a few - my equivalent of water cooler chat ... must do this complaint thing, I'm putting it off now - its a frog of **giant** proportions ..... bad frog. Very bad frog :naughty::D

Frog has been despatched! It didn't take very long :o

And so have your seeds, btw!

The stuff I've been doing today is what I should have been doing instead of pressuring myself to trade ... I keep on trying to run before I can walk ... should know better than that, hey ho.

Right, more tidying, a bit of cleaning, and my paid work commences for the day at 6pm :) I don't think I'd better get myself hot working in the garden before then, so some scanning-to-declutter is called for, I think.
