Woohoo you've done your 1st trade ...well done
your folk festival sounded interesting and great fun and glad you enjoyed it..sorry to hear about your sister hope she gets better soon0 -
Its really warm here, the sort of warm that makes you tired (!) but I've just been up to Mum's followed by a huge black cloud. And it absolutely chucked it down for all of 2 minutes! If I look out of the front window its really grey and overcast, and beautiful blue sky at the back.

KC I think you should give the gluten free flour a go with the scones (if you do them) - let me know how you get on. soya milk should work fine tooif I'm stuck I use water sometimes or half and half (water and milk)
Enjoy your tatters (great word)
Thanks Pippi! Okay, I'll adapt the scone recipe then - it won't be till after the flooring is laid, and the kitchen has been re-excavated from the books - but I *did* have my salad - soya beans, chick peas, beetroot, lettuce, and I threw some avocado oil, toasted sesame oil and balsamic vinegar over it (then a tiny bit of mayo, for luck).

I headed into the garden and my wonderful neighbour took pity on me and my saw hacking at the tops of the conifers and cut the rest of that side with his chain saw - and he wouldn't take a penny from me. Mind you he's probably please to see those tops gone as his garden was the other side and its very pretty!
You've made me remember about my fan! Unfortunately, its in the shed, at the *back* of the shed at that  no way I'm excavating in there!Woohoo you've done your 1st trade ...well done

Thanks for hugs for sister - she's keeping on working (she's a teacher - unless she's falling over, she goes in).
I had a *beautiful* walk this afternoon - another path I hadn't been on before, and also ancient - sunken pathway surrounded by tree roots, but this one has a field by it now earmarked for building work, so it won't be peaceful for long. However! I took the less travelled option, and found another field, obviously abandoned by the farmer for annual crops, and planted instead with oak trees - hundreds of them :j:j:jsized anything from eighteen inches to eight feet  they were amazing. And I'm sure I ended up on an animal track, not a path, there was just that sense about it. It was all absolutely glorious... and only 20 minutes slow walk from my house.
The blackberries are coming on too - lots of flowers still, so the bees are still doing their thing, but there are tight little clots of berries beginning to form. I swear I'll have some this year - wondering about Pippi's no cook jam, but I don't like the texture of blackberries, they'd have to be boiled and strained, I think ... I'm a wuss :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Sounds like a good weekend! Hope your sister is feeling better soon though xCheery_Daff wrote: »Squizz - have you tried baking soda and vinegar instead of shampoo? I've done it myself once or twice - always given up after a few days because it's not *quite* as easy as shampoo
but actually hair is fine! Will get back on the case again (as soon as we have a working shower, that is, not quite so nice in the bath...

I've read about that but never tried it - intrigued by the 'no wash' method as well but don't think I could stand the feeling until it sorted itself out :eek:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hiya! Z, what fruit are you thinking of? Blackberries have a very strong structure, which ends up being their texture ... well, on my planet it does, anyway
and I'm officially going to have loads and loads of blackberry jam
:D:D
But I'm very, very annoyed with myself this morning - I didn't get to bed till midnight last night, and as a result woke up too late and missed a beautiful, beautiful trade, sob ... and now, I'm so annoyed with myself, its quite difficult to settle, and I've missed another one. Many grrrrrrrrrrrrrrs and all that. I think I have to go away and have breakfast.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Good advice, thank you! Its just so different from the image I had of this morning, I was really disappointed with myself.
Onwards and upwards.
EDIT - and actually, that advice is exactly right - its really important not to distract yourself with beating yourself up. Lesson learned!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
