I've got confused about threads & delivered a thesis on cleaning, ethics & green stuff all on the wrong thread - so sorry, am clearly not with it yet today :rotfl:.
Confusion is the name of the game today - for the life of me I could not figure what KC was talking about when she said she had asked you about cleaning and there was nothing on her thread!
Any chance you can post a link to your essay? - would love to glean some tactics from your post!

Cleaning!
What is the world coming to?
Personally I go for a sort of flylady approach. Dishes always done and out of the way, sink cleaned; worktops wiped. At a minimum, before I do anything else. Same for the bathroom. After that its what I can do in 15 minute stints. Then I tend to focus on specific areas, so yesterday was my bedroom.

I know  thats why I asked Lula, because she's got a balance between cleaning and living a life - and I thought of it this morning, to be fair, I was a bit desperate:o:o with shifting books and a bit of furniture, I'm *seeing* quite how dirty the floor is, and I'm a bit ashamed
:o:o
Its good to know how you do it too. The flylady approach seems to be the one. For me, it might be this:
regular:
- dishes in and out of the dishwasher quickly.
- keep the hob clean.
- keep the "public" area clean (I do manage this, to be fair)
- vacuum regularly - hall/bedroom/lounge - the rest is ceramic tile or vinyl. Then sweep the ceramic and vinyl, for heaven's sake! And washing it every couple of months wouldn't go down amiss either
Realised that when the flooring is down, and all these *big* tasks are done, it will be a lot easier..... I may stop beating myself upEnjoy your folk festival.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Morning! I'd just like to say, I love having a room thats dark enough to sleep in
long live blackout blinds.
Turns out I'm not going adventuring to Wakehurst Place today - my sister was ill last week at the ballet we went to, and she's still ill now, so she's having a rest.... Get well sis
Just been doing a little bit of consolidating genealogy notes this morning - my dad's wandering about North Africa in World War Two in a wireless reconnaissance unit. The places he was billeted are amazing - bog standard army tents near Baghdad and the Caspian Sea, then an Arab dhow in Egypt, a tuna factory and a brothel in Libya - I haven't even got to the bit where he was driving officers about in the Lebanon when they went off on R&R ... the only stories he would ever tell were ones he could make funny, or just nice - I remember him counting to ten in Arabic, for instance ... I miss doing genealogy, I have a week's holiday at the end of July after I come back from Norfolk, I might spend a day hopping up to the National Archives at Kew ... Northamptonshire in the 18th century is also an area that I can research.
Today, tidying is important, partly because the vinyl will be being laid in a couple of weeks time and I need to empty the whole living room, partly to get to grips with the next level of decluttering, which will help how I live here. I used to have so much space, and now by choice I have so much less, comparatively, and decluttering will be nice
I also want to spend some time in the garden - there's loads of things I *might* do - I bought 3 little plants yesterday, 2 pennyroyal mints, and a creeping savory - they're bursting out of their pots, and I'd like to clear some grass to plant them, but the other plants I've still got in pots might be jealous, so I'm a bit concerned .... clearing stones from the border by the house so I can dig out some earth and then put down permeable membrane and cover it with stones to stop weed growth is also a possibility. Thankfully, I can't finish cutting down that tree, as the neighbour hasn't gone out today, so his car is still in his driveoh b*ggr, I've just checked again, he's gone out. Well, I don't *want* to do that today, my shoulder's hurting, so I won't. I'll have enough to do with the planting and clearing what leaves/branches I took off the tree already, actually.
And I have to leave the boundaries of my own property! I think a little potter to the country lane I discovered a while back is called for - with a camera
Hungry now tho - something yummy is calling me from the kitchen, I've noticed2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Its calling me too that yummy thing - what you having - I'm going with toast and food swag marmalade
Your dad sounds like he'd had a great lot of adventures
(()) to your sis sorry about your adventure - howling gales and sideways rain here - I'm up for a bit of sofa action - although cleaning is calling - I've sellotaped my ears and can't hear it very well. I don't mind a bit of squallorno one here to see it!

) now, before I do anything else - sorry about your weather, Pippi, but the sky is bright blue here now, after a morning mist ... it looks beautiful
I went with reduced rate soya/linseed bread, with peanut butter and strawberry jam
Note to self: must have the salad thats in the fridge! Must!
Hope you have a nice long break lolling about on the sofa2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I had cream cheese on toast and a nice real coffee (zapped in micro) and a nice biccie left by OH mum
HP II on dvd on, peedie (almost 5 and not really a puppy) on a bean bag, dd on other sofa - bliss
KC I think you should give the gluten free flour a go with the scones (if you do them) - let me know how you get on. soya milk should work fine tooif I'm stuck I use water sometimes or half and half (water and milk)
Enjoy your tatters (great word)Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Its boiling hot here, DS is running a stall at his school fete, DH and the doggies are all fast asleep, thank goodness for ceiling fans!
I headed into the garden and my wonderful neighbour took pity on me and my saw hacking at the tops of the conifers and cut the rest of that side with his chain saw - and he wouldn't take a penny from me. Mind you he's probably please to see those tops gone as his garden was the other side and its very pretty! One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
