KC. I am intrigued by the trading. It sounds very high flying. Should we call you Gekko? (now am I right with that Michael Douglas character?)
Right about the Michael Douglas character, but no, thats not me, I'm a

we are on ground floor thank goodness!
What do you have? I have a fawn dane and african grey parrot who is a nice bird apart from when he is saying naughty things oops!
Karmacat I am intrigued by the trading too!
Long story short, I've got a really good trading plan and have been totally snookered in operating it by fears from my past, totally inappropriate to the present day. I keep working on the fears, because I can really see my way clear to it once they're out of the way.EssexHebridean wrote: »Hey KC - sounds like you're having a productive day! I *was* but seem to have run out of steam a bit. Blah!
I did this afternoon, oops - only just got out to the post office before it got dark.
I think you're right about Jamie Oliver being an easy target - and I also think that it IS because of his popularity - the media so love to shoot down those who are popular, don't they, and sadly there is a good sized chunk of the population just egging them on and enjoyinjg the carnage. The Beckhams are a good example of this, and I suspect we will once again see more of it now they are back. Locally (We live about 5 miles from "Beckingham Palace") it is well known the sheer amount they do for charity, much of it without looking for any acknowledgement at all, and it's by no means unheard of to come across Victoria in the local Tesco store either! The press would have it a different way altogether though.
I love David Beckham
did you see the beaming smiles on the faces of the Forces personnel when he went to Afghanistan?
I've just spent over two hours trying to fix the software on my scanner - its been a major decluttering force, my scanner has
but I deleted a part of the software accidentally, and after a huge amount of faffing I've just uninstalled and reinstalled, and it works, praise be

HiKC a quick hello  do look after that fragile immune system of yours especially at the mo, so many of my friends are sick with flu kind of bugs etc. Hope the trading goes well too.
Thanks turfy! Yes I will - I'd like to have gone to the local amdram production later this week, but I don't dare. I seem to be okay at the moment, but if I can avoid crowds, especially indoors, then I do.
Thank you for the good wishes!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC. Is the lurgy still lurking or are you on the up now?
I get tired easily, cheri, but thats it - its mostly gone now :j:j:j thank you.gilligansyle wrote: »I couldn't survive Christmas without Delia - but she does faff a lot.
I can't stand watching Jamie, find him really irritating, but do like his style, 'just chuck it in' etc.
I know what you mean - I don't watch cookery programmes enough to be irritated by him, but thats partly because I know I'd *be* irritated if I watched him, if you see what I mean :rotfl:
My comments on the Beckhams however would get me thrown out. I once had the misfortune to be at the same party as them, and have disliked him heartily ever since.
Oh dear! Thing is, I do adore him, on a gut level - but this is the man who took a dive on the pitch even when he was England captain ... and don't get me started on the number of affairs he's had. I really do get it that he's not perfect - and I promise never to throw you out :kisses3:
You seem to be getting loads done at the moment KC. Are you using your new laptop these days?
Oh rats, I was hoping nobody would ask me that
. Nope. And I haven't moved the furniture today either - the office needs a bit more sorting before I put the lappie in there. When I get in the office, it will definitely be with the new lappie. I'm such a bad person

As for the Beckhams - Gill! I'm gutted! I've only ever heard good things about DB and he certainly is easy on the eye (if not on the ear :rotfl:)
It's funny isn't it, I met him many years ago, he did something which upset a lot of people, and it stuck with me. He's probably changed, but I've never met him again, so that first impression was a lasting one. PS, it was a very long time ago, when they very first met (yes I'm that old)

Morning
Erm.. the idea of a laptop is you can use it anywhere, so it doesn't really need a nice tidy office to be tried out
Any plans for a date to start the trading?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

:o:o Its more a question of needing the flat surface of the desk to lay out the material I'm using for making curtains, to pin the seam where the curtain tape is going to go. And having fun with the laptop is one thing, but changing my habits of being fearful of trading is another - I need my immediate environment to be right, so balancing on the knee is out! Practising is okay - I meant to be doing it this morning, but got involved in cheap train deals from Martin's email
I'll start trading on 31st January. Such a relief to know that! And thank you for checking, I really appreciate it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Right, back again. As Squizz has reminded me, I need to get going to create the environment where my trading can prosper. So, today's list is as follows:
- keep going on those curtains that are draped over the desk :rotfl:they'll separate the desk area from the toilet door.
- practice trading - as soon as I've posted this, I'll shut mse down and do that.
- for my walk out, I'm walking to the GP - yes, I'm going to register *today* :rotfl:
- download the photos currently on my memory card, and process them, so I can do the next item on this list:
- backup existing laptop - which means I can then transfer all my own stuff on it to the new laptop.
- 3 items to put on the local freecycle, two of which will create a nice amount of space.
Thats it! I'm off to practise trading - see you all later

Don't mean to sound like a nag - but I know you'll enjoy using the new laptop... and I know you are good at the trading!
