...... planted up 3 little visitors sent to me by a fairy godmother

Greying - you have a pm
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Karmacat - that's priceless!! I've been called some things in me time .....!!!
I didn't want to 'read and run' but haven't time to respond fully to your very kind pm, so I will as soon as I can.
However, I'm now concerned that those plantlets have SO landed on their 'feet' at your's that they are going to be sending out taunting postcards to their siblings here remaining describing their 'lush' conditions!! I'll have representation queuing up at the potting shed with 'lists' of 'growing conditions' and everything!! Only kidding! hope they romp away for you!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I finished *writing* it, Cheery - it was the first of the month, after all
Builders are hopefully about to arrive here in the next 20 mins, doing some repair jobs that *need* doing, underfloor ventilation and the like, which avoids rot. Never a nice thing, rot.
Had a wonderful conversation with my mum last night, a proper one, which was just so fantastic, it was like a timeslip back to 20 years ago.
After the wonderful conversation bit, she offered me the money to finish off the downstairs floor, but I refused. Then offered me a loan to do it. I think I'll take a version of the loan - if I run out of money before the endowment policy matures, I'll take a sort of bridging loan from her - hopefully I'll be quids in before then, from various sources, but having proper flooring down in the living room will give the place a much more *finished* look, rather than the patches of vinyl that I currently have.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Aren't mums wonderful when they realise things and make offers that they know will improve conditions for you!One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.
Total £9.120 -
Totally! Actually, to give her her due, she (and she and my dad in their time) have always done that, tho I've never needed it till recently. So lovely as it is, the conversation is even more important to me!
Builders are here, building away - I think its a very little job by their standards, but they're comfy here - the boss has stopped in for a cuppa tea
and he's working on sourcing what KK needs. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hope the buildering goes well. That is so lovely about the chat with your mum, especially after how hard you've been finding it lately. Congrats for the new baby plants too! :TDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Thanks Squizz! Yep, I'm really pleased about the chat, since I phone her twice a week for three quarters of an hour or so, its a big difference to my evenings if they go well.
Buildering (another new word I like
) is going well currently ... must actually do something - I was going to wipe down the blinds in my bedroom and iron the curtains to put up there while they were here, so I'll get on with that.
I'm also currently testing the trading rules I had a while back - over most of this month. Nuff said :question::question: an hour or so a day for testing, I'll see where that takes me.
Off to do some dusting and ironing :eek:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
The builders are gone already! Maybe I overestimated how much time they'd need ... in which case, what they've done becomes a little bit expensive, oops. However, its enabling me to take huge strides towards ownership of the whole house, not just parts of it, so I'm still a happy bunny.
However, my beautiful new monthly plan has sort of collapsed around my ears - there are 6 boxes of *stuff* to declutter, as well as largeish sundries like mirrors and a new flat-pack footrest that I actually *want*. *Stuff* consists of memorabilia, photoframes (many broken!), and ornaments ...
Can I just run away to sea?2023: the year I get to buy a car0
