I'm a bit old for that look  but I do like it :T I might yet get into capri for walking, and since I'm rolling up cargo pants to capri length for gardening, I think I can say I like them for gardeningredsquirrel80 wrote: »Helloooo... is there any news on sorting the double glazing step thingy, did I miss it?
Aargh - boss had got his staff not to tell people he was outwhich meant I was ringing for nothing on Friday; fitter turned up on Friday 10 minutes after the last time, when I had a client already with me. Said he'd come on Tuesday morning (this morning). Didn't. I phoned after leaving 2 hours for him to ring. They rang back 1 hour later - his boss told him not to turn up  at my comment about understanding appointments but appreciating a phone call, I was told "we have to move on":rotfl: i.e. he knew he didn't have a leg to stand on. New appointment for 8am Thursday 9th - I have a client at 10.30, then I'm off on a long weekend to see my mum. We'll see if it happens. The work was lovely, but the communication on the ordinary snagging has been **atrocious**.
Like the outfit talk.. I have always been a skirt girl and struggle to find trousers that I like/ fit properly (small waist, big hips, short legs!). Still avoid trousers for work unless it's really cold but have really got into capri-length combat trouser type things for walking/ gardening, and denim shorts with leggings underneath and a long top for going out shopping and stuff (have just lived in variations of this over the weekend apart from for one posh dinner
).. got some lovely black flowery shorts in Primark yesterday too!
Saw it, thank you! My mum phoned me just at the start, when she'd phoned me last week to *warn* me about it, so I made her watch it too:rotfl:thanks for the morning giggle:rotfl:
You're welcome :rotfl:
Have just finished doing the meal plan for this week & a quick check of the budget for this month!
We've managed not to put anything but lawyer fees & the MOT on the credit cards for the last two months & are making the bills fit the income IYSWIM. It's quite tight at times but we have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies & petrol in the car!
We have to just go with the flow sometimes....
(Psst - not a mention about the fabby show about Egypt last night - tell me you didn't miss it? - I almost shipped OH off to you when he started on Machu Pichu & the lost city 'they' supposedly found off Singapore - lol)
I absolutely love that technology, and the use they're putting it too - tho Stuart off Time Team could have helped with the interpretation, I think :kisses3: I'm sad for the scientist that they didn't find anything at the 2nd place they dug, though of all the fantastic signals she got, you'd think they'd have found a likelier site, but like Time Team I guess they have to investigate a variety of the signals they get.
Its fascinating the way the history books have been re-written on early Ancient Egypt in the last 15 years or so - certainly, they could never get away with the premise of Stargate (movie or TV series) now
:D:D
You know me - I *have* to bring it back to SF :cool:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC you could be brave when you go to M&S and take some experiments into the changing room too
You're the only one who sees the one's that don't work. I'd got into a routine of just grabbing the same things every time or just the thing knew I wanted in advance, and that way the range of clothes gets narrower. Like DT I'm finding the experimenting quite fun, but it did take a while.
I'm busy working out what to wear tomorrow night, going to a nice restaurant en route to UK, and wondering which outfit will get it's freedom tomorrow, also the last night in the hotel after a long stay so need to dress up here too, the lounge staff like it if you make an effort
That's besides packing to go back, and holiday packing all at the same time - this is getting far too complicated!! 0 -
Karmacat - a 'comfrey-shaped' (?) parcel has been lobbed into the ether today and will hopefully progress towards you - ideally you should receive it tomorrow, but.......

**image of a duck squawking** I'm already brave! Heaven knows why my squawk reminded me of a duck, but there you go
se, honestly, I'd got myself into a fair old cul de sac, but I've done my 3 point turn (if you've ever seen a duck doing a 3 point turn, I take my hat off to you
:D:D) and am taking to heart your Clothes Freedom concept :kisses3: which I adore.
Right now, its more a question of time - between builders, a funeral, and a bank holiday, fitting in my normal number of sessions has meant I'm going flat out this week. The plain linen ones have had a wash, honestly :rotfl:Greying_Pilgrim wrote: »Karmacat - a 'comfrey-shaped' (?) parcel has been lobbed into the ether today and will hopefully progress towards you - ideally you should receive it tomorrow, but.......

Thank you :kisses3: all those nutrients sitting in the subsoil are going to be wending their little ways up to the leaves, and loving what they're doing to all my plants :rotfl: wonderful stuff! I must research how big it grows, and plant it with an eye on the future ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Freedom idea is really Fedupandskint's via Lula's clothes challenge
Pleased to hear about the '3 point turn'. Admittedly with doing this packing I'm seeing the downside of the clothes update, a pile of t-shirts, a sweatshirt, jeans and undies was so much simpler!! 0 -
Oh! But my honours go to you, because it was through a post of yours that I *got* it. As for my 3 point turn, its why we're talking about clothes on here at all
no one would have thought of it prior to that

Oops. Rushing about today, and starting work in 30m, not going to be on here at all
its good business, its good business, keep repeating that

Remember to have a few minutes in the sunshine today, you do need a break when rushing around (((((((note to self, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)))))))One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.

Afternoon all! Well, I managed it all, been out for a little walk around the block, planted up 3 little visitors sent to me by a fairy godmother
and finished off my list for this month. I forgot to list sleep, so I won't bother with any this month
I can't believe I used to do this every day for years, sometimes even more .... I definitely need a new job.
Greying - you have a pm
