We could start a new variation of the clothes freedom days, and have a minimum
once a week skirt day :) My first instinct is still always to go for the jeans or trousers, so still a work in progress.
I work facing my clients, sitting on the floor, kneeling up, kneeling down, all sorts of stuff - I *need* jeans

I don't mind skirts and dresses when it is lovely and warm and sunny :D But I do head for Jeans and Trousers if there is even a slight nip in the air or I get corned beef legs (not attractive :o). Can't be bothered with stockings and things unless it is a very special occasion ;)

Thick tights, boots and a dress is OK in the depths of winter though :)
Oh thank god, somebody else with my take on things! If I wore skirts at the mo, it would definitely be with the thickest tights I have and some boots - its **freezing** here.

I confess that once I'd done focus diy shops, carpetright, lidl and wilkinsons, I was *not* in the mood to go cargo pants shopping - my back wouldn't have coped with it either. So I sat on the bus for another 15 mins and got to Sainsbo (where I confused the h*ll out of a couple of people trying to find out how I could get a bus nearer to my house - answer, I couldn't, in that time frame) and staggered off home. Where at least I managed to unpack everything and put it in vaguely the right room.

Today, bit more decluttering - sfx magazines - some gardening, and getting ready to go out this evening to one of our games evenings, always fun :D

Also what shoes do you wear with them?! Lol!
Good point! My trainers are dying (I'm wearing the soles through :o) and I have some castoffs from my sister I could wear in the house, but I don't have the money to buy another pair of shoes for cropped pants - I've had to spend so much money on the house...

    Morning KC,

dont be scared, I'm only teasing you ;).

Reading on how you work then I now fully understand your need for jeans. I lived in them too when working from home & it took a while to get used to having to wear 'proper clothes'. Now, I'm embracing it fully & all the opportunities it holds. Too much actually :o.

So you need to wear jeans, that's fine, but how about starting a little collection of different tops that will make you feel a bit different ? As to skirts - you cant beat a nice long floaty one that hides all sins & yet makes you feel a bit girly/flirty/feminine/naughty/ that anything could happen ? ;)

For some unknown reason, I love to wear long skirts when it rains - nothing beats a skirt & flowery wellies :D

I'll leave you in peace now :o

    Enjoy your day
    xx

Thats a good'un - I'm doing a little bit on that, actually, my tops aren't too bad...

Thats the kind of thing I'm buying! Plus that slimline one, with black lace over a flesh coloured lining - v sexy, looks quite naughty but isn't :D:D:D

Its all good, Lula! I tell you what, I'll wear one of my new skirts tonight - one that I can wear with boots, as I have to walk for a total of about 45 minutes :)

I must admit I wasn't into capris either, but then when travelling with OH we were in the middle of a really long hot summer, and I'm getting a bit old for short shorts and also walking around big cities and business hotels they weren't appropriate, so I needed something lighter and practical. So found some nice tailored black ones, and became a fan since. I definitely wasn't into skirts/dresses then :)

On the work front, it depends on the ones, there's a link here, I think the top photo is really smart but for me the second is a bit too casual for 'professional' situations. http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/life/wearing-capri-pants-to-the-office-dos-and-donts-186015

Anyway the important bit is did you find something nice in M&S :)

Just spotted you didn't have the time for the trouser shopping, also your post about jeans being practical for work.

Oh on the shoes front with capris it depends on the look, if it's formal it's courts/heels, otherwise sandals either posh or if sightseeing more comfortable flatties. So basically the shoes I wear with other things anyway.

Pleased to hear you're wearing one of your new skirts tonight :) I'm in jeans as the moment, but will change into a maxi skirt tonight, like Lula I do now like feeling more feminine in floaty skirts.

Ask Lula about my floatiness :) was definitely a floaty person at The Rave last year. My hemlines of choice in the last ten years or so have been skimpy dresses finishing six inches above the knee :D there's a video of my board-games-friends' wedding a few years ago to prove it. The official cameraman seemed to like all the wiggling that was going on :j the blonde one from Abba was mentioned, truly :o:o:o

I just can't quite pull off that hemline any more, not quite, so some readjustment is needed :rotfl:thats partly why the Hobbs dress was such a big deal for me last month at the family wedding - first dress since maxi dresses in my teens that was below the knee :)

I'm a skirts-and-over-the-knee socks girl :D Been cycling in them today :D And spent most of the time at Pippi's house over Christmas in a skirt and knee high socks (and wellies!) feeding the chickens, so it can be done! :rotfl:

Excellent! I'm just lolling about after my bath, and I'll definitely give the whole skirts thing a go :)
