Egyptology was brill - it was about the weirdoes on the edge of Egyptology over the last hundred years, almost all of whom were English (not British) apart from a couple of Hungarians. Even the women were bonkers, the few that there were. It was fascinating.
The thing after Easter - yep! Plumbing lessons, a six week course. Sadly, the first one has already been, but I missed it - my Monday evening client came along on Tuesday evening instead, because of the bank holiday, so that meant I had to work. But thats only fortnightly, so I'll be able to go, as long as there's a space.

For sheer pleasure, after having such a good time today, I quite fancy learning Egyptian Arabic

Absolutely - the pharoanic civilisation wrote in hieroglyphs. Arabic came in with Islam, I *think*. But if you want to go to Egypt, and you want to learn a language, its Arabic. No way I'm learning hieroglyphs! And actually, they don't know how they were pronounced....
Thanks! No, its not another income streamgilligansyle wrote: »Plumbing lessons! Good for you, I take it that isn't the start of another income stream?
its more protecting income, with a tiny little bit, I realised afterwards, of learning about it to help with the green website.
I was speaking to a designer friend of mine (god that sounds posh
) who is *very* interested in my website idea. Along with my sort of niece-in-law, who is a marketing graduate, it looks like small scale networking could be really helpful.
Today tho, is about decluttering, for me and my sister. Some slate chips from her garden for me, that are surplus to her requirements.... lots of shredding that can only be taken to tips, not put in the bin .... electrical stuff to the tip .... that sort of thing.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Oooh plumbing, fantastic

What next, mechanics ?
Lots of decluttering, charitizing & general cleaning & garden pottering here. If only I could live like this all the time & still get paid ...0 -
Belated welcome back KC!!!!!:j:j:j
Only realized you were back in the virtual world when you magically appeared on Hypno's thread!!!
Now back to the 29th to catch up - such a relief that it was 'only' your adaptor - hopefully not a big spend to resolve?

I'd really like to learn how to merge photos on photoshop to create a banner, but anything would do in the meantime, to be honest - its about getting out, dipping into stuff.

Oh my word, yes, thats *exactly* what I think - I don't need parties or nightclubs or very much poshness, just pottering and a bit of travelling about. Yes please :T:T:T
Absolutely - it meant I didn't lose any information on the laptop, not even my bookmarks, and I had all those photos from my Liverpool trip with gilligansyle that I thought I'd lost, but hadn't. And there was no spend at all, as it was within the guarantee and I hadn't been careless - so a new lead, a metaphorical call-out charge, and a courier two ways, no charge at all :jBelated welcome back KC!!!!!:j:j:j
Thanks honey!

Today, there's a boot sale at the railway station, and I need to buy some food. I have a little list I want to accomplish this week - a lot of it is focussed on the garden. I've been limited to working on the ivy and the buddleia, and tho that needs to continue, I also need to start giving some thought to where to mulch, where to plant, cutting the grass, collecting the dead leaves I've uncovered with all this ivy-cutting, that sort of thing. Plus cleaning the garden furniture - if I don't do this stuff, then the garden's going to be unuseable very soon, oops. But it feels good to be able to get out there and make a difference.
See you later
