just do what feels right for you each day - whether loads or nothing at all.....can't go far wrong then!
Its when we try and do more because either we expect it of ourselves or think that others expect if of ourselves that we start to drain ourselves of our precious energy resources. I for one am starting to listen to myself a bit more and feel so much better for it!
have a good day x
very well put hypno! - sometimes expectations can lead us to a dark place - much nicer to just chill on the couch and snuggle under a blankie

Evening everyone! I've been trying to get back on the net for ages - the connection just didn't want to work, boo hiss.... the foxes sound wonderful, Lula, really lovely
I did get out for a bit of a walk, even went via the dropoff point for used low energy light bulbs, which felt good to get even little stuff out of the house.
Absolutely agree on the energy levels relating to others' expectations - I realise now its absolutely fatal to try to live to what other people want of me, or even want for themselves - I think thats what some, tho not all, of the illnesses have been about the last few years.
In that spirit, I've really just been slobbing about for the rest of today - I'd really like to have got the place straighter, but I didn't have the energy, and thats that - not going to push it. I *did* have the most amazing nap - I'd just got into Jamie's 30 Minute thing for the first time, but I put my head down even so, and really caught up on some sleep
very nice.
EDIT - just crossposted with RT - yes, it can lead us down a lot of false paths - I think I'm finally pulling back from that direction.
WHILE I'M AT IT: I did do some budgets today - for the first time, I've allocated budget to a holiday, and maintenance, and even clothes - and its only the fact that I'm getting a tax refund that keeps me within what I currently earn - its all very tight, I *definitely* won't be using the accountant next year, and the leftover Christmas items that must be bought are going to come from savings, not income - its brought it home to me again what I realised last year, that the 2nd career must take off, whatever it is, and I'm right not to go fiddling around with mystery shopping and whatnot - that time needs to be spent getting ready to earn some proper money.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I can definitely vouch on the listen to your body mantra....I#ve always pushed myself too hard but have now learnt the hard way to listen to my body.0

Ouch, Taxi - thats a tough one. If thats whats behind the cancer, tho, and you've cracked it open with the work you've done on yourself emotionally, then you're hopefully looking at complete recovery, which is wonderful! Maybe learning how to take care of ourselves is the most important thing we have to learn.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Exactly Karma...we definitely have to look after ourselves.Noone else can do it for us0

Hurray for looking after ourselves, wise words Taxi & good to hear you're determined to do the same KC

Morning - I think we all put a lot of pressure on ourselves to be busy and energetic all the time (I know I always think I should be doing much more than I am and it seems like other people are much busier than me!)
Slobby day sounds good, as does the budget

Morning! Yep, Squizz, I'm pleased with both - and Taxi's words are wise "no one else can do it for us" - so true. And hello Lula! You had a day off today, didn't you? Very late up otherwise! Mind you, because I had such a long nap, I didn't go to bed till 1am either, oops. Thats the reason I made myself stop napping years ago - I have to learn to take shorter naps, otherwise my schedule is *completely* wrecked

Anyway, no chance of that today. I got up a bit later, but thats fine - I've aired the house, got the washing machine on, and I have 3 hours of paid work between midday and 5 - so this morning is an admin type day, nothing too energetic - though I do want to get outside for my 15 minutes walking and deep breathing. As I say, the rest is just admin and puttering around getting things a bit straighter. This is the week I want to get everything into the right room - the computer onto the desk, the armchair downstairs, Wol noticed the level of congestion I'm living with at the moment, it will be great to get that gone, and create more space everywhere. I like space, in all senses of the word

good morning!
it's amazing how when we take the pressure off ourselves to 'acheive' and just let life unfold that some of the best memories are made!
yesterday's slobby blah day turned into a slobby day with company
we've managed to 'adopt' ourselves a teenage daughter from across the pond - she asked very sweetly if we could go somewhere nice to walk since it was so sunny & being parental when needed, we obliged
- so result was a bit of taking in the vitamin D
then as teenagers do from that part of the world, she craved pizza - so the breadmaker came in handy for dough & the veggies chopped in the morning actually got used - she proclaimed it the 'best' pizza and gorged herself - lol :rotfl:- oh the simple joys of being young - her enthusiasm was contageous & helped banish the blahs
movie watched from OH's extensive collection & then plans made for her to do some European traveling on her weekends off - living vicariously is quite satisfying!
so part of day was spent under the blankie on the sofa doing nothing but in a positive sort of way
xo
